    Funny thing, I got into a big arguement with some girl in my media class over whether or not Grey looks like Ben Affleck. I still say it doesn't. But it was a rather strange argument.

    well, actually, now that I think about it, It's not just an oridinary refridge cycle. It is an extremeley powerful fride cycle. After all, It takes a component that would normally light on fire, and makes it less that ambient temperatures. Show me a frdige thatcan do that

    Unlimited, but that isn't actually important. What is worth discussing is the resources needed and the end result. And fur does take a LOT of resources, expensive resources. And though I only have had very breif interactions with Maya Unlimited's Fur dynamics, I'd have to say that it still isn't near perfect.

    However, you are right about the human thimg. This is because evolution has made humans very adept at recognizing humans (go figure^^). As such, I have to wonder if we will ever be able to recreate a human face perfectly. The taste is far more daunting than it sounds.

    Well, Let me ask you this --- "Why Not?"
    This is a true test of how far computers have come in the 3dgraphics arena. After all, no test is more rigorous than perfectly emulating the world around us.
    Personally, I don't go for photorealism in my art, but I do go for perfectly made. We all have our own artistic endeavours, and they want to try for photorealism.

    Has anyone heard anything recently about the supposabley revolutionary techniques in photorealistic CGI developed for Matrix2&3?

    And, yeah, it really does have that "cool hack" thing going for it too^^

    chances are, they weren't expecting a full blown /.ing. Personally, I feel that /. should offer the sites they link to a temporary mirror, before they fry their poor servers.

    yes, but at the same time, you can have YEARS to work out all the minor kinks in all your scenes. With a series, it's 13th hour rush.

    maybe using some motion capture would help out a lot. but then again, that would be like making the show twice. Not exactly cost effecient. Alos, they should blink. Yeah, blinking is important.

    hopefully, though, this series will have a better plot than FF:TSW had. Come on. Admit it. That plot was pure crap. Still loved the movie though. Best CGI EVER!

    hopefully game developers will focus on OpenGL instead of DX. Then it's only a matter of time before the games make their way onto linux. After that, windows (which is just an overpriced game OS) will have very little left to offer the user. Then they will collapse under their own weight MUHAHA!!!

    I don't know. a 13-year old game really isn't even worth $5, imho. After all, it wouldn't take much searching to find a *free* copy. Oh, well. I don't think I can play it on XP anywayz. Unlike Rockstar Games, I don't beleive Id revamped the game to work on newer systems.

    What about Rockstar games? It released GTA if I remember correctly.
    Now, it would be nice if other game manufacturers released more titles for free, but there really isn't any reason that they should.

    I'm glad that they are releasing some of the original work that Id and John Romero so great. It is also noticeable that they have also released Intergalactic Delivery Boy (no, not for free) for the PocketPC. It is really down to John Romero's and Hall's roots. After all, Id games are best when they are simple.

    I don't see any validity in your point. Let's say I went out and bought a copy of KungPow: Enter the Fist (funniest movei ever by the way) and I ripped it to DivX and put it on Kazaa. I have made no money from this, in fact, 20th Century FOX has already made $25 off of me. And the people dling it aren't exactly flippin tricks to fund terrorism with their now dled copy of Kung Pow. Where then does terorism get funded?

    Yes, up until the point that they have virtually elimnated all other competition. Come on, admit it, MS is a monopoly and therefore shouldn't be allowed to charge as they see fit, because they can charge outrageous sums.

    that I don't need a 64-bit proc for at least 10 more years. Then again, they always used to tell me that it was the Ghz that counted, and now look at their new chip for mobile pcs. Very similar to what AMD has been doing for quite some time.

    You big baby! What, do you think that your job is any more difficult than other peoples? Do you have any clue how much work the Programmers have to do, or the media artists? And what about jobs that don't have a damn thing to do with gamez? Do you honestly think that playing a game ad nausem is a difficult job? Ever try construction work, or how bout something that requires a great deal of mental work, not just, "Hey, I bet game tester would be sooo cool... WAIT A SEC, this bites!" What's that,you haven't held a real job with real stresses? Didnt think so, but hey, that's okay, you can bitch about how horrible an experience it was to test games, and how you realized *horror of all horrors* a game isnt fun when played 100+ hours a week (I am in utter shock [sarcasm for those that missed it]). But that's okay! The modders are in utter amazement of your sad,sad tale (I hear the violins going off in the distance)and wish only to give you wonderful points for all your trouble....

    As you can tell, I am not so impressed by your horror story. If you hate it so much, then get a real job, you said it yourself that the job has no job security and totally suxorz, so stop your bitchin and leave.

    If you have gotten this far, then you are probabley dying to slap on a troll mod, but realize this, I am right and you know it. That's what makes you mad. So stop your bitching, develop some skills, and get a better job. Bitchin' sure as hell isn't gonna make it better.
