Let's not forget that in addition to Christmas and Kwanzaa, we've got my birthday coming up. This is an important celebration that we should not forget. And don't go cheap on me - this list of $25 and less items is unacceptable. Spend some damn money on me! You can't take it with you!
Homosexuality isn't natural. The fact that a liberal won't back up my right to say that but will back up the rights of the KKK to organize (check who the ACLU defends) says a lot about liberals. They only want their views pushed or the views of people who are so extreme that they won't be taken seriously. Open minded society huh? Where do you draw the line? Sex between a man and a dog seems pretty unnatural. But I guess you think that's fine, right?
No, this shouldn't surprise anyone and the parent who let their child spend a night with Michael Jackson is clearly unfit. But I've noticed that some in the mainstream press (and of course, average citizens are following the lead) have been treating this story like a fluff piece. ESPN's website had a Page 2 article about funny things the police found in Jackson's home. It wasn't funny and I think the subject matter dictates that that type of levity should not be applied to the story. I mean, this isn't Ben Afleck and Jennifer Lopez having a fight or Jennifer Aniston cutting her hair. This is a small child getting molested by an adult. Jokes just don't seem appropriate.
Crash was Ballard's worst work - why would you want to see that nonsense?
And, in the interest of fairness, conservative groups do threaten boycotts but so do very liberal groups. Dr. Laura's television show was hurt, in part, because of the boycotts brought on by pro-homosexual groups. I think the idea of organized boycotts can have a time and place in order to bring about change but when you use it to silence people whose opinions you disagree with - that's just hurting society. From a conservative group, I can somewhat understand their reasoning but for a liberal group to attack someone who is anti-homosexual seems a bit hypocritical. Aren't they always pushing for acceptance of all and diversity within society? Yet that diversity cannot include anti-homosexuals, etc. Perplexing, very perplexing.
But back to the game, has anyone heard that Rockstar had to edit parts of Manhunt? With a movie, you can give a cut to the board and then cut bits of the movie pretty easily to appease them. With a video game, this might not be as easy to do - especially if what they are offended by isn't just a simple cut scene but rather an underlying piece of the gameplay. Could this bring about bugs in the finished game? I don't know if game companies are being forced to modify games like this.
BREAKING NEWS!!! Guy on Slashdot proves that not everyone can come up with good plot ideas for popular television shows. Further reinforces the long-known truth that people don't have the ability to evaluate their own ideas in a reasonable manner.
Maggie and Stewie blowing up Springfield? Yeah....
No, you're missing the point. (Notice how rude it is to start a post by telling the parent is missing the point?) The exact numbers don't matter at all. Sure, it costs less than $250,000 to get a game supported. Would the charge to the company be less than this? Probably. But does that matter? No, and here's why - the cost of getting the game on the supported list is obviously greater than the return, otherwise companies would be doing this. You notice how game support for Linux isn't exactly universal? That's because the most amount of money can be made sticking with Windows.
It may be cheaper for Transgaming to fix the bugs but what is being suggested here is that the development company pay Transgaming for this work. It's a nice idea but not exactly revolutionary. If the market dictated that this would be profitable, it would have already happened. That answers your final question as to why the developers are not funding Transgaming - it would hurt their profit too much - very, very simple economics. But you don't seem to get it.
Ignorance doesn't make you "stupid." Stupidity is an inability to think. Ignorance merely means a lack of knowledge. If someone in Africa has never used a computer (and therefore is ignorant of the basic functionality of one) would you call that person stupid?
Well tough guy - the original post that I replied to was making the claim that gaining market dominance was going to be an "uphill battle." I was refuting this fact. I am correct and you have only proven my point.
And don't bother responding to me anymore - I'm ignoring your pathetic attempts at thought.
And if you don't think the Chinese government puts bullets in people's heads for trivial crimes, you're the stupid one. Why don't you do a little research and try to find out how many people China executes each year.
His lack of knowledge regarding the larger world makes me believe he is a liberal. The uneducated in society (auto workers union anyone?) are Democrats. As such, his lack of education regarding the fact that the Chinese market is controlled by the Chinese government, alerts me to the fact that he is a liberal.
You are welcome. Oh, and I can tell that you are a liberal as well. See, I'm good at spotting liberals.
An uphill battle in China? Ah, my misguided little liberal friend - you, like many liberals, don't understand that not every place in the world is like the suburbs where you reside. Time to do a little fact searching and educate yourself. The Chinese government is a communist dictatorship. Did they teach you anything about the Soviet Union in this public school you attended? China is similar to that. The government doesn't need to hold a town hall meeting or a state of the union or answer questions from the media; if they want the people to accept EVD, they make them. Those who refuse get a bullet in the head. And honestly, when there are gross human rights abuses going on, no one is going to protest over a government backed movie format.
How will China convince pressing plants to adapt to EVD??? Are you nuts? They send in troops. That'll convince anyone. You liberals are so naive...it would be laughable, if people weren't dying.
Too bad a result of the Slashdot moderation system is that my karma will be down one point at the end of the moderation of this comment even though the comment itself is +5 funny since funny moderations don't count. Hopefully metamoderation will catch the poor moderation but since Slashdot is run in a fairly closed style, I'll never know.
Wait till they see Pac-Man! It glorifies the culture of overeating! These damn Americans and their fatty games coming to Australia and perverting the minds of the young - there ought to be a law!
Hopefully, some right-minded person in Australia will take the reigns and end the tyranny of Pac-Man.
I would have read your comment with some level of interest until I noticed you started it with "Bzzt, wrong." How fucking pompous and arrogant can you get? Learn how to have a civil conversation sometime.
Ah, typically short-sighted peon. You're a follower, obviously a leader. You can't envision a time when people thought to themselves, "Well fuck, there's no roads. What's the point in owning a car?" Short sighted short sighted short sighted - that's all you are. Don't ever reply to one of my posts again.
I believe one of the benefits of the Segway is that if you work in a city, in order to go out to lunch, you have to take a cab or drive your own car. True, you could run to and from lunch (in order to have enough time to satisfy the boss) but that may not be as easy as it could be in a suit. The Segway fills this purpose by being a mode of transportation that can travel at least as fast as a human running and also being much smaller than a car - so there's no wasted space that you're taking up.
Has humanity become so lazy that they want to stop doing calculations themselves? These new fangled calculators are going to be the death of society! God help us all!
You're being a typical poster and overreacting. A Segway can be a useful means of transportation. Just because you are too short sighted to see the benefits, does not mean it has none. You know, why own a couch? Humans have legs for a reason, so they can stand! Why do you want to sit down??? What's wrong with you??
The people who are in charge of purchasing decisions for a server aren't basing those decisions on what desktop OS they use. People who make those types of decisions should have some type of technical background and should be familiar with Windows, UNIX, and Linux variants. And Red Hat is pushing Linux as the choice in this case. If I use Windows at home because I like playing games (and I have the technical expertise to run a server) do you honestly think I'm going to choose Windows? A better line of thought is that people who run private servers at home using Y Operating System are more likely to suggest that Y Operating System be used at work. But they're still two different markets.
You're suggesting one tool for every job. This hasn't been the case for a very long time. The same Linux flavor used as a server should not be the same Linux flavor used as a desktop.
Also, when you said users would be more "implied to use that same operating system", what the hell did you mean?
You certainly told me, didn't you? Congratulations on your tone and wit. Hope you have a good day!
Mortal Kombat was called MK before Mario Kart was and, as such, retains the rights to the abbreviation.

You remember when all those priests were getting busted? You must have been in stiches!
My mic port is currently occupied by a line out from a radio. Let them enjoy the sounds of the Savage Nation!

Discount if you aren't particular about appearance and/or status as "living." Let me know.

You must be stupid not to realize that.
