What are you talking about? Firefox has always had bugs, why do you think we get security updates? The difference, as we will soon see, is that the Firefox will have a patch weeks, or perhaps months before IE.
Take a look at the source of the demonstration page. This is not a bug in Firefox/IE/Mozilla/etc. This is a vulnerability due to Java being able to hijack a window if the name is known. That is why it effects all browsers. I don't see how any browser maker can fix this. If I was to bet money, I would probably say that they won't. However There is a simple fix, disable java scripts in your browser of choice. No java scripts running, no exploit.
one in high school doing well, and almost a poster child for 'Net-based school research,...
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you probably taught all of you children the different ways to collect research information. I know this seems to work well with my children. When they ask me to help them on line to get research information, the first thing I say is "Well lets look in the encyclopedia, go to the library, get the dictionary out, etc. first". This way they are learning about all of the different places information can be found and how to find it. Now when they do get on line to do research, they have a greater apprecaition for the computer and 'Net.
Someone working a register for ten years is no more entitled to the job than someone working a register for 1 year.
If someone runs a cash register for ten years, they well deserve all the money they can get. That employee apparentlly must be extermely trustworhty to handle all of the businesses money intake for that long of a period of time. New cashiers get paid less to start because they have not earned that trust yet. IMO if you run a register for a company you should get paid as much as the company can afford to keep you once you have earned that trust.
"The scientists also offer five things to get organised for your remains after death. These include leaving your body for use in car crash research, which has saved an estimated 8,500 casualties since 1987, or having the carbon in your ashes turned into a diamond."
I just figured it all out. Right befor Atlantis was destroyed, they sent Big Foot,The Loch Ness Monster, and Thw Abodimable Snow Man to Egypt to help move all of the stones to build the Pyramids and Sphynx. Right before the projects were completed in Egypt, Atlantis sunk. Now Nelie, Tee Abominable Snow Man, and Sasquatch were free from there opressors and able to rome the Earth to look for a new home. The Snow Man send to hell with the heat, I'm going North and cool off, Nellie was intersted in helping out with Stonehedge, so it went to Europe. BigFoot, did not like the barren landscape of the desert, so he settled in North America.
but against someone using out of the ordinary stuff this guy is screwed. I've got serial ATA drives and reiser4 and xfs file systems. I'm willing to bet that he doesn't have a hardware drive copier that supports SATA. And his software doesn't recognize reiser4 or xfs. He would either need a different tool or he would have to send the drive someone higher up to be examined.
Man, you just the exact situation I had happen last year. My Linux email server was compromised do to a vulnerabilty in squirrelmail/UW Imap. They didn't do any damage that I could find, so I just took the email server off line, and buitlt a brand new one and hardened it. Unfortunatelly, my boss had to find out, because email was down for 1 day. Since she found out, she wanted me to report it to the Feds. I relunctantly did so. 3 Feds showed up. I handed them the drive, and they made an image of it with the device that you have mentioned. They then tried to use their SW to examine it. Guess what, it only works on WINBLOWS FORMATTED DRIVES. They couldn't see any of the data. They have since stopped investigating the case.
come along and eat their lunch with just a few new features that the folks at WordPerfect were too lazy to implement.
IMHO Novell/Wordperfect has/had put out a much better product with the same if not better features than M$. Unfortunatelly, they lost all of their market share to M$, becuase in typicall M$ fashion, they spent a large fortune in marketing to get their products known. It wasn't that Novell was lazy, it was that Microsoft had a better marketing department and bigger marketing budget.
NetWare basically existed just to make up for the Windows networking components being shitty at the time.
Netware was around a lot longer than M$ was making NOS'es. They used to have 70% of the NOS market share. As for Windows networking components being shitty at the time, how has that changed from today? Don't get me wrong, they have come a long way, but once again, they rode Novell's coat tales by implementing a Director Service for their product (Of course the big red N stole NDS from LDAP. but I digress). I loved using NDS, unfortunatelly M$ stole their market share, and now I am stuck being a Windows Admin.
From my understanding, nicotine has almost the same affect on the heart as caffine. What makes nicotine seem harmful, is the way smokers injest it. Take nicotine, and then combine it's affects with the fact that you are starving your heart muscles of oxygen every time you inhale smoke. On top of that you are then adding all of the other toxins and carcinogens. IMHO, nicotine alone is not any more physically harmful than caffine. I could be wrong though. It just seems that if nicotine was as harmful as people seem to suggest, you would see and hear alot more warning (and IMO lawsuits) against the producers of quit smoking aids. The last box of patches I bought, I did not notice a warning on them that nicotine could cause heart problems.
"Tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNA) are found only in tobacco products, and are highly
carcinogenic."
and
"Nitrosamines contain the organic functional group N-N=O, and are formed by the nitrosation(addition of an N=O group) of secondary and tertiary amines. In tobacco, these amines are nicotine, nornicotine, anabasine, and anatabine,..."
and
"TSNA are created during fermentation, curing and burning of the tobacco leaf."
So according to the information that you linked to, nicotine is not carcinogenic, only the process of fermenting and burning tobacco causes nicotine to change into a nitrosamine. This nitrosamine is carcinogenic. As I stateted earlier, if you remove the tobacco from the equation, and only injest nicotine, how is that carcinogenic?
I am a LAN Admin, and I see your point. I do not lock down my workstations. I have written policies that state that if you install non-work related software on your PC, you will be disciplined. This pretty much has stopped about 85-90 percent of the spyware from being installed. The majority of users are concerned enough to come and ask permission to install software that they feel is important to perform their duties. This in turn makes the IT staff more informed of the environment, and can come up with an ever improving stratedgy for technology deployment and support. Unfotunately, it still cost the organisation money due to the few problem children that require being disciplined multiple times before they are eventually fired. Then the loss of an employee incurrs even more cost due to trying to find a replacement. (You notice I did not mention that a cost would be incurred do to lost productivity because the firing of the employee. 99% of the time this same employee is not very productive to begin with.) No matter how you look at it, locking users workstations, ignoring the problem, or writing policies, computer users cost an organisation money. It all depends upon your organisations corporate philosophies and internal culture on how you want to lose money. The IT staff is usually charged with enforcing the phillosophies of upper management to try and reduce this cost. So as for your statement
OK, so there are stupid users, but I don't care about them, they don't affect me, I'm just trying doing my job
Remember, what you do with your computer can and does effect the entire company. You may only see your small piece of it, but the IT staff is suppose to be looking at the entire company not just you. If the corporate culture does not suit your work habits and ethics, maybe you should look into finding another employer.
Cock and penis would get a -1 troll/offtopic attached to it

It's also the reason why the ball-sacks...
And ball-sacks is the correct term? I thought it was scrotum? I guess you should get modded-down as well.
Lighten up a little bit!
That is why I have now placed my tin foil hat on my other head :)

Although I seriously doubt the folks at Google are shuddering over this new "rival"
Only old people in korea will be using it.

I guess that would make it relevant.
As well as Suse 9.X
Good lord, it's sounding alot like FARK around here. Next thing you know everyone will start b*tching about her sharp knees.
The price tag isn't the most costly part about those, it's the time and the headaches...
I believe it is the maintenance contracts that cost the most.

Don't sell your friend a dream. Set his expectations realistically.
That is why I always tell computer users that there is only one way to make your computer 100% secure.
That is to never take it out of the box and use it.

Doesn't matter who won, the point I'm trying to make, is that they are better products and M$ has a better marketing department.

Replace the word nicotine with caffine in your post, and your statement is still a valid one.
Just something to ponder....
From your own link:
"Tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNA) are found only in tobacco products, and are highly carcinogenic."

Probably the same place that the nicotine comes from for the gum, patches, and inhalers. A laboratory! It's man made genius
It's been so far impossible to eliminate them all.
That is why they completely elimanated the tobacco. RTFA next time before you post!!
Did I mention he's, apparently, a toad-licker?
