how does the fact that the router uses a packet shaper require the end user to have AV software? at my university, they use a packet shaper, and clients on the on-campus network do not have to have such software installed. this sounds like a great idea, tho...
i happen to be a Biblical studies and theology student, and there is more to that statement than meets the eye. basically, when David accepted the challenge to face Goliath, he knew he would win. also, he did NOT use a tiny sling shot. he used a sling....a 5 foot beast of a weapon. what does this mean? in this context, Linus knows he can win. also, he is using a weapon that some deem worthless, when in fact many know is a very formidable weapon (the egyptians had entire battalions of slingers). and, of course, the arrogant philistine went to face him, and got waxed. now, all we have to do is wait, and linus our hearo will rise up, cut of the head of his adversary, and we will crown him king!
this is all almost like a movie. all you need to do is replace those involved with some more exciting entity, and you got the next billion dollar blockbuster:
Sco: liken to sauron, but with no real power
torvalds: some kinda of wizard
red hat: that land of humand you are sure you can trust
bsd: the dwarves that can kick anyone's ass but are more content with chillin in the mountains
Ibm: the elves that youre pretty sure are on your side...
even the ancients realized that they were in ancient times, and that there were also many who had lived before them. i didnt believe it either, but my arch prof was pretty convincing...
and suggests that we are in the 'technological middle ages.
doesnt the fact that he mention that imply that we are not in the tech middle ages? i mean, to say that we are in the middle implies that we know the other side, which clearly we do not...
it appears that i was right the first time. Shamash, the mesopotamian sun god is really angry. run to your ziggurats all ye heathen, and make your sacrifices it is too late and we are decimated under his awesome power!!!
(for a niminal fee, i will be willing to act as priest...)
whether in clothes or computers, it seemd that i am still always out of style. what we really need is a book on how to keep everything in style...that would be useful. that way i will know that my computer doesnt look cool enough and my shirt doesnt fit right....and thus explains why i dont have a girlfriend....
Spam and computer viruses are believed to be largely responsible
i think its funny that these are put as if they are so different. almost seems that they are by nature one entity and different manifestations.....almost like some ancient egyptian religious structure of pure evil..
if i work around access points and am surrounded by wireless routers in my apt complex, am i gonna get a low sperm count? if yes, can i sue my boss and get his first child?
we have all seen him dance......the dude has pretty good stamina. personally, i imagine he will be dancing himself silly to the heads of each government only to find that its hard to convince people your OS is better when you dance like my grandmother after a bottle and a half of wine....
quick! get the clip before the server gets/.ed to a smoldering ember.....because even the force cannot protect itself from the onslaught of fans and/. readers..
interesting thought, but what is the difference between this and the age old concept of the cost/benefit relationship...? im not trolling, it seems that it is jsut that concept with a tech twist..
if the nodes, or at least one, is an ibm machine with software that may or may not belong to ibm, is SCO gonna sue for the data that rightfully belongs to them? i mean, if my code was used to get some important data, then, by Zeus, that data belongs to me!!!
i wonder what 'surveillance techniques' they havent put the brakes on......but then again, paranoia runs in my family....
