Maybe I've just been lucky who knows I guess im screwed now that I made this comment though...guess its good that im moving to another state next month! My main concern is right now I live in a house, and when i move it will be to an apartment which means the number of people they are handling in the area with be alot bigger which might also mean strict enforcement of bandwidth use. When I move in they will clearly see a spike so I guess ill be waiting for my letter/phone call at the start of June.

I can also see MS shutting some of the DRM off due to customer complaints, they have done things like that in the past. There is no reason to wrap self recorded media in DRM so I feel your pain.

But, for the majority of users (99%) the built in DRM will never be an issue. I've put video through Vista Media Center through my camcorder and I didnt have any problems editing or modifying it.

I downloaded the program which I trusted from a source I trusted. Well guess what was hidden in the install that vista blocked from auto running? Spyware!

Everyone seems to be making a huge deal out of nothing and they alway get +5 moderation for doing so. If you dont like UAC then shut it off and move on, its not that hard...oh wait I forgot. Microsoft sucks no matter what they do!

I do wish some of the Blu-Ray movies were on HD-DVD but I can live without them for now. I wont buy a Blu-Ray player until it has been declared absolute winner of this format war. The only reason i was going HD-DVD was because the 360 addon was cheap cheap cheap and it works on PC as well. The picture and sound quality is excellent and I've seen Blu-Ray and its no better and sometimes worse. It will be interesting to see who wins but for now all my money is going to HD-DVD...oh that and Xbox Live Video Marketplace.

Im sorry, i mean I understand alot of peoples gripes but 80% of them are still filler crap to make people feel better. The only performance change I have noticed on my PC so far is FASTER downloads on newsgroups...amazing!

Didnt have any crashes either. I also found flip 3d to be mildly usefull and the new design of the startmenu takes some getting used to but once your there its a better system. I will pray for you tonight and hope you get some more smarts in that head of yours. If your a XP user and you have major navigation issues in Vista you probably shouldnt use a computer ever again.

I want the best quality money can buy and HD is the way to go. Sooner or later it will be the standard so why not adopt now?

Is it a little expensive? Not anymore, a player for the Xbox 360 which also works on PC and Mac is $200 and movies in the HD-DVD format are $20 at target and walmart and I've seen versions that come with the HD and DVD versions on a single disk which is excellent when you consider its no more expensive.

You might not be ready to take the plunge but some of us are. I bought my HDTV which is a 26 inch CRT for only $130 on clearance, I got it for my 360 and now that good HD content is coming out I plan on taking advantage. The difference between SD and HD is night and day and it is the leap DVD was over VHS just in a different way. You can see way more detail in the scenes and things just look overall better. If you cant see it then you should think about either getting a better TV or getting your eyes checked.

Other punitive measures according to published reports include the disabling of Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player."

You know this is a load of BS. I know I know its bad when spyware can infest a PC but lets be honest here people, Windows shouldnt run to its fullest potential if someone is pirating it. The one piece of software you should NEVER under any circumstances pirate is your Operating System. If some moron is getting blasted with spam and popups then thats the price he should pay for stealing.

There are always other anti spyware apps that they could use anyways and chances are anyone who is going to pirate will know that. Defender wont block virus's so this is a moot point if someone brings that issue up, and does anyone care if they cant use IE7?

I really dont understand how they are placing anti piracy above security. If your a valid user and you have an issue a quick phone call will fix it, MS has always been understanding in that regard as I've dealt with them before. They solved the problem quickly with no hassle. Also chances are unless you change your Mobo you will never run into that problem anyways. Of course If you pirated then I have no pity on you.

What I do mind is a company like Symantec whining about this issue, they have built their whole company on scamming Windows users with their #1 security software that always seems to let you get infected anyways. Im going on 3 years with no dedicated A/V. I scan once a week with AVG and I've been virus free and my system doesnt suffer the horrible slowdown Norton brings with it...sorry now im rambling.
