This change is easy to understand. Apple has the first OS that can really begin to challenge Windows on the average consumer level. The limitation was the hardware of an Apple Computer. The only way they can fight Windows is by using the same hardware. Open hardware means more sales, plain and simple.
Your way to angry for your own good, you act like Gates/MS has bombed 3rd world countries claiming they have WMD...all he has done that people complain about is release an imperfect OS, nobody is forcing you to buy it you know. I think the amount of money that man has given to charities absolves him from anything he has done. None of his buisness practices really hurt anyone, true some companies go out of buisness but its just that...BUISNESS. When Gates starts murdering inocent people then your little argument will have some weight, until then just shut up and go use Linux.
Firefox can run happy because it isnt part of the OS which is good and bad. Good for security, bad for features and speed. If MS patches all the holes (lol) then there would be no reason to use Firefox/Mozilla so long as the feature set was decent.
I also gotta say this new confirm your not a script thing is stupid and if I stop coming here that will be why.
You people laugh and make jokes but Stern is a HUGE market, I know of 8 people who are buring Sirius when Stern moves over, they are waiting but they are gonna buy one. If only 5% of his listeners move that will put Sirius in the #1 spot and crush XM.
You can download your brain all you want, it wont be YOU. Not unless its the brain itself inside the computer. The way I see it is, if its not my actual brain then im dead it doesnt matter if the contents of my brain have been backed up or not.
What about the price of snacks, i spend $23 on food when me and my GF went to see ROTS. What did we get? Medium Coke, Medium Popcorn, Peanut Butter M&M's and Starburst Jellybeans!! WTF is that all about?
Had i bought that myself at any store it would have cost me MAYBE $7
True that made big money, but Nintendo needs the money of an older audience to survive. Companies are making less and less games for Nintendo systems, a 2 generation deep trend that Nintendo cant afford if it happens next gen. Like you said, alot of quick money but in the long run they were shooting themselves by only catering mainly to 12 and under.
He did a great job running Nintendo through the 90's but he's the reason they are falling so far behind, he's the one who tells us what we want instead of listening to the gamer. Im glad to see him go, Maybe now Nintendo will regain some market share and stop with all the BS.
Nintendo's problem these days is they seem stuck in this mindset that they can tell gamers what we want and need, and what we dont want and need. According to Nintendo we dont need more powerfull hardware, which means we dont need better graphics, sound, AI or physics, which in turn means we dont want or need bigger better games. Sorry Nintendo but you dont seem to have any clue what I want or need for my gaming needs, you lost my interest back when SNES was retired and Mario 64 was played to death.
True some of their games are fun, but all there major brands are into their 30th sequal, lets think of something new huh?
I have a Motorolla i170, not a bad phone not a great phone, but im not rich. Maybe you can afford to spend $100-$200 on a phone but I really cant. This is basic technology im talking about, you got it, but why isnt it in every phone or at least the basics of it like tranfers pictures and sounds!?
The problem isnt the feature rich phone, the problem is carriers have some how got people to pay $1-4 for STUPID RINGTONES!!!! Itunes charges me $1 for a song whether its 1 min or 10 min, but a 3 second repeating ringtone costs me $2 or a 12 kbps 30 seconds clip of a song cost me $4...wtf is all I can say.
The phone companies wont let people do what we want with our phones until we stop letting them rape our wallets! $1.50 for a 32x32 pixel background image! Why cant i just send myself a custom made BG for free? Easy because stupid people pay, and they keep paying.
Change wont take long, if we all stopped buying ringtones and bullshit for our phones then change would happen pretty quick, its a broken buisness model made to screw the customers out of even more money, dont fall for it!
Paying for email is no an option, you cant give people something for free and i mean GIVE (not like piracy) and then expect them to suddenly pay for it. The cost of my email should be included in my monthly charge, and since im paying $50 and it says 5 email accounts they damn well better not charge me per email. Spambayes works just fine for me. I also set up a email address just for buying things and joining sites, my important email which has been active on a major ISP has yet to receive a single piece of spam in over a year.
Having an account and accepting the TOS of the client are different, he didnt have to accept the TOS to make his program. Why are you so concerned about him breaking TOS anyways, im sure you have broken a TOS before, everyone does at one point, its inevitable.
Who said he ever agreed to the Itunes TOS? Nobody, he isnt breaking any law, and IF --- violating the Itunes TOS was the worst he did who cares, all they can do is cancel his account.
That is the biggest load of crap I have ever read. Studies have shown online music trading increases demand for songs which increases sales. No reliable source has ever shown they hurt sales. If you wanna talk about piracy why not ban FM radio too cause i can copy a song off the radio just as easy as a computer. BTW nice way to deal with a "pirate" yell at him and lose a customer in your failing buisness.
I think this would be good for the 50 and up crowd who would like the convience of a Cell phone for emergency use but cant justify a monthly bill or minutes that expire of 90 days (pre-pay). For $300 you can get a quality cordless phone with a distance wide enough for everyday needs like shopping, walks etc.
I use the net alot less now, got a girlfriend that keeps me happy (as opposed to my ex who kept me miserable), ever since I met her the internet has lost its boredom killing magic and has since become a source of boredom. Of course i still visit/. many times a day, I am still a geek after all.
True they attract users to their other products but in no way does this hurt any news agency, if anything it helps by driving traffic to them. There are a couple sites I never heard of that I now visit almost daily after clicking on a google news link. If it wasnt for google they wouldnt have me as a visitor and potential customer.
What Damages? Google doesnt make a cent off Google news. All Google does is provide a blurb and a link, if the user is interested they click the link and go to the originating website. How is that possibly bad?

Google makes no money on Google news, there are no paid click throughs and no google ads, damn people get your facts straight.
There are no google ads on google news, try again.
