My wife passed away in 2013 from ALS. We were going to "bank" her voice for her eyegaze text-to-speech computer. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and we were unable to bank her speech before she lost the capability.
I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this â" who will count the votes, and how.
He was referring to a Communist Party vote, but the same principle applies.
Similarly, the old SCO Unix (back when SCO was merely stodgy and not evil) had a timing loop in the Adaptec 1540 and 1740 drivers, and would fail on boot on a 486/DX-66 (and probably others, but I'm just going from personal experience)
The fix was to take the system out of turbo mode, boot from the floppy, patch the driver image; reboot in turbo mode and install. Patch the driver image on the hard drive and relink the kernel; and then reboot in turbo mode.
The key thing is that the turbo switch was necessary to deal with this shit.
Same here. My wife wanted a smaller stone, partly because she was a very small woman, and partly because we had a bunch of 1-2 point diamonds from my grandmother's wedding ring that we put onto the ring as well.
That's a good option, but I'm looking for Wifi too... want to use *MY* wifi rather than the ISP's, in case they decide to do fun stuff like turning my wifi into a hotspot...
I'd like to replace my vendor supplied router with one running open software.
I'm just not sure which is considered the most current, or the pros and cons of the various distros. * DD-WRT * OpenWRT * Lede * Tomato (is that even still around)? etc...
Suggestions? (Maybe I should make this an Ask Slashdot?)
"Writing for the majority, Justice Neil Gorsuch said that the 1925 Federal Arbitration Act trumps the National Labor Relations Act and that employees who sign employment agreements to arbitrate claims must do so on an individual basis â" and may not band together to enforce claims of wage and hour violations.
Federal law shouldn't trump the Constitution.
In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved
They've been doing this for years.

But it's nothing new.

I'm trying to figure out what part of
"In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved"
is NOT violated by mandatory arbitration.
Someone should file a suit and appeal it all the way to SCOTUS.
Such a law is clearly unconstitutional. See the Seventh Amendment.

Found the article on Groklaw. What I was thinking of was the SCO Linux Kernel Personality.

As I recall, SCO did something similar as well (before they turned evil). It was used as evidence in part of the trial.
I understand that Pluto prefers the term "Gravitationally Different" to the term "Dwarf"
Why there's an energy barrier at the edge of the Milky Way. The Organians put it there to stop those pesky extragalactic invader stars!
