Nah, St. Louis has none of that. Nor does its surrounding metro area. It has less social annoyance, but much greater for police abuse.
However, aside from periodic flooding, St. Louis is also sitting on top of a 8+ point fault (New Madrid), with a 90% probability of a 6+ quake in the next 20 years. And it's not built for it (yeah, LA sits on the San Andreas, but we know the big one's coming, and have tried to build to deal with it).
PP: Anyway - you've got no worries. If the USG tried that, you'd use all those wonderful 2nd-amendment protected firearms to overthrow it? :
Actually, you could make a Second Amendment argument to the court. Is strong crypto still on the ITAR list? If so, it's a "munition" and the Second Amendment guarantees your right to it.

Alas, the last drive-in in our area shut down about 5 years ago for a multiplex.
In L.A., the real estate is too valuable to use for a drive-in. Too bad. It's also the best way for parents with small kids to take in a movie. You don't have to worry about pissing off all the other patrons when your kids get cranky. You can have them in their pajamas, etc....
OK. Skip the periodic flooding thing. I was probably just complaining about the humidity :)

Re: crypto...
GP: Until they illegalize it.

How can this be redundant? There were no rootkit jokes when I posted!
As an added bonus, the disks come with the rootkit pre-installed!
It wasn't Linares. It's Ray Beckerman, aka NewYorkCountryLawyer.
Sheesh, if you won't RTFA, at least click the submitter's name before you go all conspiracy.

Linux allows for multiple vendors to compete in the market (aka capitalism)
Come on. Linux is communism. Both SCO and Microsoft have told us so!
Ultimately why would a space craft be built out material resembling tin foil.
I don't know. Why don't you ask Northop Grumman, the builders of the LEM?
You're on the Brute Squad? You are the Brute Squad!
Your sig is remarkably on-topic for this discussion!
Since when has the Antitrust settlement stopped MS from doing anything?
And this is the argument as to why MS won't sell PCs in the US.
They won't be able to foist off level 1 tech support onto the vendor, as *they* would be the vendor.
Based on posts in comp.lang.c++, they're already hooked... and on VS6.
In any proper production of the 1812 Overture, it wouldn't be drums, it would be cannons.

Seems to me that CowboyNeal is the option for both 2 and 3. You put CowboyNeal on that wing, it's gonna get stress tested!

It could be worse. The stance could be "eyeing" Apple.
You forgot bioterrorism (the Ten Plagues) as well.
Erwin: Argh! Programming me for Lunar Lander you are!
