It seems like the 4x4 Range Rovers might have a 'off-road' setting where they hit the pothole on purpose to give their occupants that authentic off road feel. Around here you see lots of Range Rovers that have never seen anything more challenging than the ramp up into the parking garage at the mall while their owners shop for be-dazzeled jeans with the knees pre-ripped at the the factory. Of course these same cars are outfitted with snorkels, light guards, and rhino bars up front. All chromed and shiny.
Another variant on this theme is in the short story "Understand" by Ted Chiang. It is in the short-story collection "Stories of Your Life and Others". Even though this story has a very different ending, I instantly thought of Flowers.
I am guessing you are not from the USA. There are more than 3 time zones. We have some where between 7 and 9 depending on how you count, and what you count as the US. Several states have split time zones, and because we like things complicated here in the US, I live in a state that doesn't believe in DST (Arizona), but often gets a separate listing in time zone tables. And there is a section inside the state (the Navajo Nation) that does honor DST, and a section inside that (The Hopi nation) that doesn't honor it.
Southern Utah does a have quite a few national parks, but the Grand Canyon is in Arizona.

For a fictional exploration of what would happen to society if suddenly we had the ability you mentioned: The Light of Other Days

There. That should clear things up.

Umm..., I am not sure how it works at your doctors office, but a circumcision should not involve your ass at all. I would seek a 2nd opinion
...We are talking about 15-30 people for each project, with hundreds of lines of code, usually spanning 8 months of more of development.
Wow,*hundreds* of lines? Over 8 months? These guys must be code-ninjas!
I believe the term we are looking for is employment at-will. I don't know about France, but several states have the concept of at-will employment. For more info see: http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/laborlaws/l/aa09 2402.htm
