It's an amazingly useful feature when you need to animate something to sound or music. For example, it makes lip syncing a breeze. 3ds max and maya both do this really well and I'm glad to see it added to blender.
One comes to mind: Suikoden for the PSX. The japanese box art was amazing (anime), but the american box art tried desperately to be Boris Vallejo style, but wasn't.
What we really need is some kind of international space agency that any country could contribute to.
We'd be able to claim things for humankind rather than bickering about country lines. Plus, we could get alot more done with resources from many countries.
Of course, this is unfeasible as all hell for the world to get along.

That's why they're releasing the server processor first (Opteron). Right now there isn't much of a need for 64-bit on the desktop, so that processor can wait. Web servers, databases, and render farms will benefit from Opteron tremendously though.
