    You basicly describe the Magnatune model. 128kbps MP3s for free (CC licensed in fact). Choice of formats including FLACs and plain WAVs. Ability to re-download. The only thing I find lacking are purchasing options from Latvia (I could get a Visa Electron debit card, but I don't know if it will work and how much transaction will eat), so for the time beeing I freeride on the free MP3s.

    Your web browser deletes files from your computer all the time, and it doesn't need root access to do it.

    I'll stick with CDs, thanks.
    Just make sure it has the logo. Otherwise there are books and DRM-less content from the net (both free and paid, just not "mainstream"). Net content is increasing rapidly and even some good books become available in Latvia (translated, ut you can't have everything).

    Personaly I like the groove on Logitech's D-pads (at least the one on my Wingman Precision much more than the Nintendo cross design.

    Also I doubt that Nethack would work as well with current graphics. Abstract works better when you get the same elements over and over again in different configurations.

    Major updates cited include the ability to pick and choose which files to index, and how often.
    Now instead of manualy keeping files tidy users are expected to keep their search software tidy. What a major improvement in computer assisted file management...

    A lens introduces an error of refraction
    ...or corrects the one present in the eye.
    Now that i think of it, that's probably the problem. Americans don't seem to appreciate free advice.
    I don't know what Americans not appreciating free advice have to do with me.
    I probably wasn't too clear about the focus thing. No effort needs to be made to see far. I thought that was perhaps too obvious.
    It is obvious, but does not apply if you have myopia and/or astigmatism.
    Ever hear of nearpoint stress?
    Yes, that's why they put something into your eye (don't know the name) that relaxes the muscles and see if that helps, if it doesn't...

    I have had perfect eyesight, but next you will try to tell me that I dislearned to see right? I bet I have slight astigmatism (that's getting worse) in one eye because I have a bad posture right?
    There is no verb to focus. When one TRIES to focus, that's where things go wrong.
    Bullshit again. I can focus and unfocus my eyes at will, just not for anything that is more that about 40 cm away without glasses. Any distance with glasses.
    Believe me, if you wear glasses you have no clue how the eye works!
    I'm not going to believe anything about how the eye works from someone who says:
    YOu must keep your eyes focused exactly the same distance all the time to see through the glasses!
    You're the one who has no idea how the eye or glasses work.
    No more light sensitivity! In fact, i regularly stare into the sun nowadays

    False, Stallman doesn't like the non-free versions of Java (just like he doesn't like any other non-free software) and free software relaying on such. No problems with free software (like OOo) using free Java (like GCJ).

    Yes is an operating system, just not stable yet (Hurd can be run, but Linux is the kernel of choice when you have work to do).

    Indeed, who cares what you think?
    You can believe the people who keep you buying glasses and going for eye exams, or maybe you can listen to the people who have 'cured' their eyesight.
    I can also believe my own eyes. Able to focus with glasses and no it's not always sharp. Unable to focus on distant objects without glasses. No more squinting for me thank you, my muscles are more relaxed with glasses.
    Wake up buddy, medical science knows crap about how the body functions as a whole.
    And you do know better why?
    haha, it's funny that with advanced civ and increased medical knowledge that we're actually getting sicker and sicker as a population.
    There's nothing funny about it. It's the expected consequence of increased medical knowledge actually.

    People in dangerous circumstances tend to form small, dis-contiguous groups where members know each other personally. In such circumstances, other much safer methods of transmission exist.
    The best one beeing face to face. Networks are NOT safe, don't give people the false impression they can be if you don't want to put them into a dangerous position.
