    No, Perth is certainly not that humid in winter, maybe 60-70%. And less humid in summer.

    Explain this: I live in Australia (holidays primarily in summer), in a mediterranean (south calif.) climate. Hot dry summers (low humidity) and wet winters (high humidity), with few people having central heating (it ain't cold enough to bother). Yet we still have winter as flu season. Hypothesis dismissed.

    Your point actually is very important; there is not strong correlation between test scores and economic performance.

    Seriously? Look at the OECD school scores, and who do you see down the bottom? The likes of Greece, Mexico, and Turkey. The poorest members.
    I suppose it depends what you mean by economic performance, but standard of living definitely correlates to school test scores - both in average IQ and quality of education.

    Who paid for the ambulance then? Thats not covered by our national insurance scheme.
    An ambulance can cost $300 to $1000 . I'd be offering to drive the neighbor to hospital if he is still walking.

    Actually, the US already spends more per-capita on public healthcare than most other developed countries. But they get a lot less for it.

    I get from "bushfire", ".au", and "New South Wales" that we're talking about Australia, but not everyone will pick up on that. Country should be mentioned.

    If you are part of the English-speaking world, how can you not know what New South Wales is?
    Do you also want to be told that Texas is US, Scotland is UK, and Ontario is in Canada?

    What break-out-board? All that PCB does, so far as I can see, is convert from 0.1" to 0.3" spacing between the two rows.
    A DIL header will skip the redundant 0.1" step, connecting the cable to the prototype board, more simply, just without the silkscreen labels.

    Nope, the Australia Penny was never "called the 1 or 2 cent piece."
    It was 12 to the shilling, so 0.833 cents, and not used after decimalisation. The sixpence coin was still used for a while, worth five cents.

    In Australia, prices are inclusive for convenience, but every invoice or sales docket must state the total amount of tax included.
    It is certainly not hidden. And of course everyone knows the tax rate is 10%. It will be a courageous politician who increases the rate.

    I still can't fathom how posting "prices" that are different from what you actually pay may be considered a good idea.

    Even the Americans are only willing to take it so far. High-tax items such as alcohol, gasoline and tobacco are sold with tax-included prices.
    Though the $1 air fares are an oddity. (plus $147 taxes and fees).

    All those are illegal in Australia, to some extent. You cannot legally carry around a large knife without a legitimate reason (e.g. going fishing, cooking)
    Compoud bows and crossbows are restricted. Slingshot varies by state.

    Maybe not technically, but it sure looks like one, and is very effective at killing lots of people very quickly.
    You can understand people thinking is is made to kill humans, and not deer. (Unless you want to thin out a herd from a helicopter.)

    Which is why mandatory waiting periods are pointless.

    Maybe pointless for mass-murder, but that is just a tiny portion of US gun homicide.
    A waiting period will stop a lot of hot-blooded revenge/domestic murders.
    The most common use of a gun in the US is suicide, which is also relevant.

    It is pointless comparing gun violence between US and Canada without controlling for race and ethnicity.
    Demographic differences explain the majority of the difference, though I'm sure handgun availability is important too.
