H: Dude, what's it say on my back?
CN: d00d! What's it say on mine???
H: l33t! What's it say on mine, dude???
CN: d00d! Come on, what's it say on mine!?!?!???
H: L33T!!!
I have a cable modem, and I work for an ASP/colocation service in NJ.
I have a cable modem that has been ROCK STEADY in its service, not to mention fast. They started offering the ability to sign up for the service by teaming up with an Electronics chain store in the area. If you know what you're doing, you can buy the cable modem in the store and connect in yourself. That's convenience!
There has only been one interruption in the service since I got it early last year, and that was only for one night. It turns out that someone shot a bullet into a critical cable in their fibre network, and brought the whole cable service down with it.
The best part of it was that within a month, I got a snail mail letter from them explaining the outage, AND, they included a color photo printout of the cable in question! Ya gotta love that!
Every time you get a question right, you have to do a shot. It tends to level the playing field pretty nicely.
...Except for the first time we played. We were playing normal Pictionary, my team was in last place, and my teammates had to leave. After introducing the TP rules, I had someone from another team join me, and the two of us won.
Thank god they had enough couches! I do NOT recommend driving after playing a round!
The NHT SuperZero speakers are pretty damn cool, and for $100 each, they're decently priced. I haven't heard anything (and I've done some earwitness testing) that comes close for the price.
Right now, I have a pair of SuperTwos as my main speakers, and the rest of the surround setup are SuperZeros. I currently don't use my subwoofer as my awake hours are significantly different from my neighbors to cause trouble, even at less-than-half power on my amp.
avoiding any gay undertones they may or may not have?
Ornithopters? Atreides ones were more like flies!

On The Dune Miniseries
·
· Score: 1
Quite a few things that they did better on the SciFi adaptation
-Baron Harkonnen was not the sick and gross individual he was in the movie (although, Fat Bastard was probably a closer match in my mind to the actuall physical appearance of BH
-The sets in this adaptation are much better, although that one symbol thingy in Duke Leto's chamber reminded me of a Nazi Symbol.
-SpaceShip Designs were less dorky.
-The movie flowed well without the internal monologue
-The Emporer's Daughter Irulan had some real dialogue, and while not quite up to Natalie Portman hottie-dom, she's up there!
Ok, on to some misses (mostly minor quibbles):
-Ornithoptors - at least the Harkonnen ones looked decent.
-Funny Hats! For Example, the Sardukar guards for Irulan looked just funky. What where they, French?
-Feyd, aka "triangle man". I mean, triangle man hates particle man, they have a fight, triangle wins, Triangle man! (TMBG)
-The defeat of House Atreides. Did I miss the fight on ann extended commercial break, or did they wimp out?
-House Shields and personal shields. That's one thing I really liked in the Lynch version.
-The Voice! Gak, it's like someone found a way to turn on Audio Boldface. Score another for the movie version, which was just creepy.
-The music is just not good. It doesn't work for me.
I do, however, like this adaptation so far, and won't miss a minute of it. Given that they're announcing a DVD of a behind the scenes documentary, any idea when the real DVD will be out? Right now, I'm as giddy as a little Girl....
The TERRIBLE way it manages email. I carefully backed up my.netscape and nsmail directories before committing to trying to use NS6. good thing because I reverted back later.
NS6 fucks up the conversion of old mail folders by not indexing them properly or at all (I have 500 messages in that folder, not 3 you MORON!) Aside from that, you apparently can't tell it where your mail folders are. Heaven forbid that you put them elsewhere besides something like
~user/.mozilla/user/ykk73yz5.slt/c8p9sior.slt
What the HELL IS THAT ALL ABOUT? WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!
This is unforgivable in my book.
I went back to NS4, and I couldn't be happier. Well, I could, but this "release" is making me lose faith in the Mozilla project.
It's that wacky language the brits came up with, you know, the one with colours, and going 'on holiday' and my friend who says "I hope you got your mathS right"
The whole tech stock rollercoaster thing has prevented my company from IPO'ing and/or getting investment.
Many investment companies practically shut the door when they hear dot-com. It's really disenchanting. We do good work here and our company's a service and hosting provider, not a content/material provider like all those that have failed.
I think this is make-or-break time for them. It's about time they released something, but on the other hand, one would hope all standards have been adhered to, not just 'interpreted' or adapted like IEEEEEEE.
B: "Hey rocky, watch me pull a Netscape out of my hat?"
R: "Again? That trick never works"
BattleBots is, at most, 9 minutes of combat. I typically watch the show on fast-forward in under 10 minutes. Yawn. They try to spice it up with Gina Lee Nolin, but still, YA-fsckin-WN.
Has everyone forgotten Survival Research Labs, who put on shows in SF, and elsewhere?
I stopped reading it a couple of months ago, and I don't miss it at all.
did you not get? I have a couple of issues still in the shrink wrap, and chose to open the most recent one after getting the CueQat to see if there were more barcoded ads than articles...
I've also looked at eCompany and Fast Company, and neither gives me enough reading material for the average crap time...
That damn magazine is turning into Technology Vogue. Sixty-three fscking pages of ads before the first bit of actual content! I stopped reading it a couple of months ago, and I don't miss it at all.
The whole magazine's become a parody of itself, and unfortunately, not a good one. Say goodbye to one subscriber.
To paraphrase a certain filmmaker, "We liked your issues, especially the earlier, funnier ones."
That is one Magic light source!

that's great, but who are the Chefs?
An orbit's an orbit - you didn't imply an outer limit...

The ROBOT turns into a building?
Where's the fun in that????

except a Neck and some Tendons!
Good old John K. - How can you beat lines like that???
we CAN'T imagine a beowolf cluster of Pentium IVs?
Which character would each of you be?
I'm guessing you align mainly with Dewey and Malcom...
Better Yet, HOW did Triangle Win?

Oh, I've coded toooo much,
I haven't coded enough.
That's me on the keyboard,
that's me in the spot light,
losing my religion
I can't believe how many brain cells I've dedicated to this movie...

I have a feeling that many of the complainers didn't.
For the record, I did - I registered on the last day possible, and spent 1/2 an hour searching for where I should vote.
By the time they're shipping, AMD will have better prices for faster CPUs.
People still can't get 1GHZ PIIIs
RedHat 7.0 is NOT out on CD yet, as far as I have seen, so maybe they started wisening up.
