>>Before attaching the heatsink you should squirt some thermal compound on top of the Xeon. Intel thoughtfully provides a hypodermic with the Xeon for precisely this purpose.
Why the hell would you want to inject thermal compound under the skin?

Starting in the early 1980s, Britain's Silsoe Research Institute received about $200,000 a year from the government to design a humane harvesting machine.
At first glance I actually thought it said human harvisting machine!
>>This is the kind of thing which Apple's control over hardware, software, and consumer applications together permits it to excel at. What is astonishing is that Microsoft has proved so poor at this kind of coordination.
This is the very reason why Microsoft has excelled so far beyond Apple.
Now I'm confused. I remember there being 4 signs leading up to this speed trap... and it was more permanent-like. It had the speed detector on one post, and a camera on the next. It was on some kinda highway.
In the US the tickets are a bit more expensive (mine was US$100), but you would never get one for going 4k's over. That really sucks about the hidden cameras:(
In Australia, all automated photo speed traps by law are required to have at least three warning signs leading up to them... and yet they make millions of dollars per year off of them.
I bet these guys will just get the boot (remember the simpsons episode?)
I just downloaded a song using kazaa... I just cost the recording industry $150,000? I know they have alot of money, but a bunch more of these should dry them out.
Many people don't really have a choice when it comes to ISP. There is only one non-dialup ISP in my town, and they get away with much more than just very slow upload speeds. They try to charge you an extra five bucks per month for each computer you have connected, and they try to prevent you from running a router. Thats just the start of it, too.

No degradation until the cheap drives crash.

Could have been Cairns. Not sure. I DO remember seeing the signs, though.
An aussie told me that when I was in Sydney last summer, and I saw the signs myself. Sometimes there's even 4. :)

(Can't wait for solid state hdd's :) )
Then they wouldn't be called disk drives, now would they?

My Archos Multimedia Jukebox 20 plays mp4 divx. You can hook it up to a tv, too.
