Your budget is likely to be cut if you don't spend all of the money in a year.
That is exactly how the gov't runs; on all levels! For example, when I was in the Marines we would go to the shooting range from time to time. Problem occured that we always had too much ammunition left over. Instead of returning it to the Armory and updating our logs, we had all the Privates and Lance Corporals load up clips and simply fire their rifles off down range. Why? If HQ saw that we didn't use all of the ammo in this training exercise, we would get less the next time and getting more ammo is like pulling teeth.
//I know, slightly off topic, but slightly relevant too. No?
Actually you would be surprised what UPS does for businesses these days. Take Toshiba for example: if your laptop is broken, you can drop it off at any UPS store where they will then ship it to their repair depot.(that is UPS' repair depot). Toshiba certified and trainined engineers fix your laptop and then UPS sends it back to you. Total turnaround time: 3 days.
The company is finding a lucractive niche in being not just the transportation folks, but managing a company's entire supply chain logistics.
When can we expect the retail eye-wear version of this technology to be mass produced?
As long as it only takes one hand to operate it.../obligatory as well
Perhaps, but it has always been (and presumably will be) an issue between best practices and consumer market reality. Although using IPSec to secure your wireless traffic is the most secure solution today, some people still use WEP as it's less complicated, even if they KNOW that it is less secure. This is true not just for technology either: i.e., cigarrettes. Everyone knows that they are bad for you, yet people still smoke 'em.
Yes, he is technically a machine/program and they might not have killed him because of that, but I think the "premature EMP blast" put him into his coma, and the Sentinels passed over him as dead
#1 An EMP doesn't affect people the same way it does humans. It's an ElectroMagnetic Pulse; it's designed to disrupt eletronic and magnetic signals. Morpheus and crew weren't affected when they sent out an EMP in the first Matrix movie.
#2 Agent Smith in the "real" world isn't machine; he's a flesh & blood character as evident from the cutting of his hand. Personally I think he did this because it was a new sensation: pain.
He uses an EMP blast (I am assuming here) to knock them out, and in the process put himself in a coma.
How does a human generate an EMP? That's not possible unless we assume a "Jesus Christ" type figure. IMHO, this wouldn't be the intent of the 2 Brothers.
Just trying to think this one out for myself, but if it were in living in Zion, the last city of mankind, if I had an opportunity to party, I'd party hard myself. Might as well; who knows how long you'll live...

Yes, yes, this is all good, but will it make my penis longer?
"One toolbar to rule them all..."
Exactly. Gov't contracts are performed by the lowest bidders. Just like our nukes.... Makes you feel safe, huh?

Because it does.
