  1. Join MS/Apple/Sony/Napster/Walmart? on Ask RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser · · Score: 1

I'd seems to me very clear that with big players entering market competition will be too high to get profit/significant market share.
Does Real thinking to join resources with any other companies providing similar service?
MS, for example, was always big enemy of Real, but isn't time to forget and cooperate :)?
I think company on this market needs to have hardware backed support. Apple have it, Sony can have it, MS definitely have it. Real?

Original comment wasn't clear enough, I have to say. If you need an mp3 player + storage for files, I would sure go with IPod. But - archos gmini have priceless feature for people with digital cameras - _build_in_ CF reader and LCD screen to check out pictures. So, if you want that kind of functionality, nothing better than Arcos. Other similar solutions (i.e. flashtrax) way more expensive or bulkier. You can buy Belkin external CF reader for iPod, but it's sucks so much I cant' even tell :)

Not only Russia have new ballistic missiles (Topol-M), but they are still have some SS-18 armed and ready. I didn't read article, of cause :), but in Russian news it says that this launch was also military test of old SS-18 specifically about how it behaves after long shelf storage. Which is I think is a brilliant business idea - conducting military test and getting paid for it :)

Orcs, that escaped slauthering by Araghorn (he died not so long time ago), people from south, who wants revenge, etc. And wasn't many good guys at this time (most of Elvs already left). In fact, there was a few books, written by Russian SF writer Nick Perumov. Last one was complete crap, but first two quite good. In fact, first one sounds very like JRRT himself.
It's a sequel, 300 years after War of the Ring.
The main idea is that one ring was destroyed, but others, human rings survived, and guy who happens to be hair of Borromir started to collect them. Very well written and connected to LotR.

Because they 1) Dont want to pay royalties 2) Want more pie from this market 3) Because they can Since it's goverment funded, quite simple would be to raise custom fees for imported DVD, and force foreign companies to produce movies in new format for new market. Then companies will try to sale same EVD disks in other markets, just to cut some expenses, and we will get another pain in ass trying to make a rip from new media :)

Well, another way for MS will be to make a better deal with recording companies. AFAIR, Apple gets $0.10(?) only from those $0.99, everything else goes to music giants. Make a better deal with them, start to make a contracts with artists directly, even buy out some of those record companies or their archives, MS have enough money for it.
