Like I just did last week. I'm in the UK, paid £600 upfront on PAYG, a £10 top up will last me 2-3 months. 90% of my texting is on data (iMessage and WhatsApp) and there is plenty of wifi around me. My family all have iPhones and tons of minutes so they ring me. I rarely ring others, at work I use the work phone. I use the iPhone more as a Internet Communications device that Steve Jobs described.
Be was a software company. Those you cited are in the hardware business who included an alternative and don't depend on said alternative. Be brought nothing to the table which was going to help MS.
That's the point, no commercial entity have tried to install their software on a naked PC since then, none really exist apart from Apple (or anybody else who makes their own hardware). Since Linux is open source who can MS sue directly? That's why they simply turned to the Open Source movement and said 'you're infringing our patents', but didn't say which ones. This dissuaded some manufacturers incase they were caught infringing. Why do you think Android phone makers have to pay MS for every phone they make? Hello.

How quickly people forget history. When BeOS came to the x86 market for the first time nobody would preinstall their product because Microsoft threatened to charge more for the windows licenses. Only Toshiba made a deal with Be at the time. But what they couldn't do was tell the customer it was installed (it existed on a hidden partition. This is how Microsoft removed Be from the market and is one example of their anti competitive nature.
1. Only Apple sell Apples, business 101 says charge a higher price for a USP. They have 100Billion in the bank, not everybody thinks like you. 2, Intel are paying manufacturers to produce a laptop cheaper than Apple's MacBook Air. Seems PC companies can't make them as cheap and hit the market at a higher price point.
The optimist is me says they will if people in a sizeable manner starting taking Ting up on their offer.

I took that to mean that only fanboys know that truth, but you've been blessed with enough to see it yourself without becoming one with the mighty Apple. Really it's just that you believe in the history and the facts, which anybody could if they don't let their prejudice's stand in the way of reality.
Two, speaking of prejudices, history, facts and certain realities, I'm interested to know why you think socialism is slavery?
I approve of the destruction of America (I will enjoy the day it implodes under its hypocrisy, lies and selfish attitudes), but it's the slavery aspect that is stopping me from making my next purchase. So I am 50/50 at the moment. I'm dead serious.
A bit more googling would have told you Konfabulator was created to add back the widgets features into OS X that people loved from OS9 created by Apple!
Especially since National Rail isn't a for profit company. Anything they make is invested back into infrastructure. It's in a state between government owned and a typical for profit corporation.
