I do beleive that in the Timothy Zahn books for the star wars episodes 7,8 and 9, it is explained as to why everything fell so easily for the empire. They were all under the influence and drew their strength from the emporer, when he died everybody lost heart and ability. What annoyed me more was the imperial fleet that was at endor which buggered off even though it still outnumbered the rebel fleet. Its an explanation in any case but a damn lousy one.
would hours of fun to the game just by making us read the text for longer. Companies like to brag about how many hours are inside a game, this is the perfect chance to go where none have gone before.
You...must...travel to....Ceti... Alpha....6, you and your... elite group of nerds...must... kill...a man named...KHANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!
Or better yet YOU could be Kirk and type very slowly to your group of friends! To go one further you could make the game last longer by getting your crew to admit there are infact 5 lights! No experience points until said otherwise!
tough break but this is a reason why convergence products don't work, what is your phone, a phone or a camera? Thats why I have a phone that just does calls and a camera which far exceeds the capabilities of a phone and can interact with a PC with no trouble.
Having the icons on the right side makes sense when you have to consider to the needs of right handers, this is how error messages in OSX are set up as well. I have my dock on the right hand side also, this is a boon when applications normally take up the left hand part of the screen (remember we read from left to right). Having the dock at the bottom wastes to much space and since nearly everything opens with it taking up all the screen, there is enough space on the right for the dock.
Btw, for some who didn't notice, i didn't actually say the Mac hasn't got viruses my point was about marketshare being a factor in writing a virus for a given platform.
There are more mac's than window CE devices yet there is now a virus for that platform. That argument about macs having a smaller marketshare and thus are not the target of hackers can be trown out of the window.
Can it?
Assuming you ARE an MS employee, i have two questions for you. 1, do you personally hand the tissue wipes to Bill Gates, and B, do you have a soul and a poor sense of ethics?
I don't know why there is so much importance on my example of firewire 800. Apple has had other innovations which cannot be found on the windows side, one of them being plainly obvious. However you are correct on your point for firewire 800 being available for pc's.
I notice you don't provide a link for such a machine. Also my point is being diluted with this nitpicking, i'm simply saying that for the hardware to be priced as it is, it can be because there isn't an exact match anywhere else. Look how much Apple price their monitors, they can do this because nobody else offers a 30inch screen and nobody else offers a monitor with firewire!
Plus this zealotry you speak of is a typical excuse to shy away from a real response, its tiring to see it because it shows there isn't anything contructive coming from such a person as yourself.
Btw, to pick up on the "inflated hardware price" remark, show me where you can get the exact same features for a lower price and then i'll believe you. For example, which windows pc's have firewire 800?
I don't think you watched the news when it happened and updated your information years after. MS doesn't "own Apple", but MS did buy some non voting shares in 1997 and has now sold them all anyway. The parent is right, there is no MS tax.
Ah yes, you're right, they do, i think certain warlords come to power don't they?

ISS isn't an OS, something which you are comparing it to. Apache would be its direct competitor and in any case, Apache is bigger than ISS.
You forgot to post as AC dude...

Assuming this hack IS done in the states of course... the DMCA only applies to the little planet called USA.

Stargate?
That was moving even for me and i'm British! You said what needed to be said, parts apply to other people of other nations however.
I thought it was the paint on the hindenburg that allowed a build up of static electricity to ignite it?

Really?
I'm talking about MAC OSX in particular. Sorry, should of clarified.

Woah, the MS apologists are in full force today...

Minidisc, what did it win? I never got a chance to witness the hype or the iconic status of the minidisc, at the time i thought the cd won.

The point is, you cannot get it WITH a windows machine, just like other innovations, thus nmac hardware is not so comparable.

would open source their OS, then the community would have their own OS to contribute to... oh wait.
