It's just a shitty desert. We can learn much more about it if we heat it up to a humane temperature and let the water melt. Next convert C02 to C + O2. Then - lay soil for plantation...
Then begin boaring through the suraface looking for ancient ruins. Then lay soil for plantation and plant. Mars as far as I know has a more stable crust so Earthquakes and tsunamis would be far less of a problem. Of course trees will grow differently with different gravity so we might have to genetically engineer them to grow against smaller gravitational force.
I originally had trouble with s-ata on my box. I managed to get a hold of a tailor-made CD with a sata bzimage. That's the beauty of Slack - i has such a great community of people behind it. Even if the offical distro has some shortcommings, they are more than made up for by the support and the distribution itself
ehhh, more than any other distro thats what Slackware does. It always has the older more stable kernel shipped. It is installed as a generid x86 (or whatever arch uou use) in a typcial installtion process (eg. full install) . You dont have to mess around. It shouls all work fine unless you are a noob!
For Slackware users who love Gnome (like me), they can still use Dropline's Gnome [dropline.net] distribution. It should work out of the box for Slackware 10.1 too.
Why are you punbishing yourself? I use Slackware 10.0 with KDE. They gel well together for me. Of all the Linux distros, Slackware (for me) is the one that epitomises stability. Why not use KDE or FLuxbox. I use KDE for day-t-day tasks and Fluxbox for gaming. Gnome seems to go against the grain of what Slackware stands for. I would use Gnome with Fedora or another big distro if I wanted a "rough and ready" demonstration to pull users away from XP but otherwise no.
The more I read OpenSource (really Linux) advocates flaming Sun for some imagined misdemeanor or other the more I tend to conclude that Sun has been remarkably forbearing with the community as a whole and that if Sun have been a bit rude on occasions they have been rather less rude then the community right royally deserves.
Nothing much would be that different. Everyone would hate IBM because they are where MS are (in the real world ; ) ever here of it?). Some othere big corp would have funded early Linux work...
Instead of using Slackware Linux I'd be using FreeBSD or even OpenSolaris or something, big deeeeeeeeeeeeeel....
I think in something like search engines, the tech crowd dictates what people use. It's easy to switch your homepage. If there's a new better browser out there, tech people will use it, and inform their non-tech friends about it too. How much does google spend on marketing?? When's the last time you saw a google TV ad?
And don't think google are any better. They both suck ALLOT. google is bubblegum. Seach sucks. an, I'm crying out for a good search engine that lets me grep, find, akw, sed ONLINE! Anyone know of any? Google are the worst. They use opensource O.S.'for cheep cost and give us a MS-style bubblegum search engine thats straight out of the MS paradigm. And I here they are f****** to work for. F*** google and MSN.
If MS wants to win, they should focus on having a quality product, and not worry so much about promoting it. If they really do make something better, people will use it.
What planet are you living on. And I'm guessing you're from the US so your population is expecially susceptible. All over the US, kids (and grown ups) are blowing bubble gum thats the same colour as the MSN search site and planning to go on line an welcome their new supreme overlords...
Doom 3 on Windows only uses DX for sound, nothing else. That is what made it possible to port. OSS and/or ALSA are used in Linux/Unix. OpenGL is really a bunch of mathematical and matrix/vector..pachakes in particular for rendering 3d. DirectX is the same but its slower because you have to depend on libraries more. Becuase of this games like HL2 can never be as fast as Doom3 can be.
I'm not sure about all this "free is the only way" GPL anymore. I'm right now on the verge of making a big decision of switching from Linux over to Open Solaris or something. I just want to work and delop on and for an OS without any political crap. Im getting tired of all this neo-freedom-fascism.
You know, being intolerant of tolerance is not a good thing. I like freedom in software, but I also like to smoke weed every now and then. I'm not perfect and there is no perfect licence or model out there. Heck,I'll miss using Slackware if I go and start usin Solaris, but screw it, I might just do it.
Thats where human beings come in - damn good at pollution. What the hell are we waiting for?
Lets begin. From now on every company should be forced to store there CO2 emmisions in compressed containers. We can fire these containers into Mars.
I wonder how much simulation and testing you need before we feel safe about affecting an entire planet."
We have all the simulation and testing we need. It's what we do!!!
Bossting CO2 emmissions on another planet - gee, how the hell are we gonna pull that one off. lol
It is a miracle drug...No
See here for an example of its use

[insert Gentoo jokes here, hehe]
KDE looks and feels great. Have you even used it? And it comes fully loaded with a bundle of programs like CDr rippers/players kontact, xmms..
Gnome looks good.
Gnome uses many skins that are a copy of XP and the Windows paradigm ...yukk
That would be enough.
KDE feels like win
...you are sooo mistaken. For example, many of the motifs / skins do not look anything like Windows. eg. Karbon..try it!!!
Gnome doesn't.
...Maybe Gnome has non-Windows looking skins too but its slower than KDE as well
KDE - I don't know its shortcuts.learn them!
Gnome - I do.good for you, well done!!
KDE - is not GNU.still FOSS baby!
Gnome - is GNU (well, maybe for most people that's bad, but for me it's great)1 good trait ;) ! ?
punbishing yourself.... All time low
Why are you punbishing yourself? I use Slackware 10.0 with KDE. They gel well together for me. Of all the Linux distros, Slackware (for me) is the one that epitomises stability. I personally, have no problem with the kernel choice. They shipped 2.4.26 with 10.0 as it is more stable
Yeah, that was similar to my conclusions
Instead of using Slackware Linux I'd be using FreeBSD or even OpenSolaris or something, big deeeeeeeeeeeeeel....
Move along now, get back to reality...

Maybe, finally, you will get a girls number

cha-ching
I agree

Get back to work, and stop waisting time. Have you downloaded that Debian ISO for me yet?
No? Then get back to work.
No. F*** the content. I have no problem with ommitting certain depressing facts..I only have a problem with the corporate bedding..
I would be very disappointed..
