Your example is sorely lacking. All I'm saying is when I meet someone, in my heart, I believe I can tell there nature - nature doesn't lie! Of course chat is useful - thats what we're doing now and although you sound like a really nice person, Avilazar, how can I be sure. I like old fashioned traditional ways of meeting allot. I use we chat usualy for work related activity.
That just me! I hope you are a spiritual person. If so, I believe you should try and meet people face to face more often. I live in Ireland so if you ever com over here, you can meet up if you want!
Its the same for women I "fancy"!. I believe in simplicity if its the matter of attraction. I believe love needs this foundation of early attraction to blossom fully. Maybe thats why I tend to like innocent people allot.. I don't know, its a crazy world and I'm rambling...score 0 - offtopic!!
Best of luck to you!
Someday if there's a nuclear hollocaust and I'm lonely we may meet again (online)!!
I was kinda thinkin along those lines. It is so tricky to secure this kind of thing in software. Hardware is probably the real answer. I have a feeling Via are the masters here. Admittedly they don't make fast CPU's as such but they do have "Paadlock" TM hardware encryption. I never looked into it much myself as Im not quite that paranoid but for the pessimistic, I think its probably a good bet!!!
..you are only one person, who can only meet a finite amount of people PROPERLY in this world at any given time.....and also because some people you want to meet and some you don't!
When you meet someone face to face, there is much more polite and civil (hopefully) openings.
It is more genuine. The person in an internet chatroom could be a paedophile for all I know. I can't use my intuition to determine this because there IS no presence. This is just another fad that would waist my time. I don't believe in on-line presence. If its not someone I already know in person, I would rather talk to AI online - honestly!
Of course OSS is the choice for e-voting. This is yet another slow and awkward tripup of a stumble of a walk for mankind. We could have and should have been using e-voting with paper trails in a proper PUBLIC implementation many moons ago, but like most issues, paranoia and synicism are were too rampany in most of the Earthlings and alas here we are...
Yeah, good point but I dion't see how they can seriously have a go at scientific / high performance application unless they make some/al of their code Open source.. fat chance. Also, I would have expected M$ to be more interested in taking a leading role in bios OS than this...
I'm sick of these movies focusing as if its the greatest city in the world or something.
They expect ppl of the world to flock to the cinema to see a post apoalyptic New York which is actually primarily being caused by Americans..!
I would have more emotion in my heart if it were London or Paris or somewhere.
ps. I'm Irish
Yeah, because Intel have taken te lead in wireless tech. and M$ have nothing to fear from that..
Ms have just annonced that Doom III (game) will be released only on XBox - out of the 3 major consoles. Thats where they're putting there money now - paying ppl off..oh waith thats not new??
Offtopic? I dont think so..
and if people are using F/OSS applications on any operating system, this is a win-win situation for the F/OSS future.
..the above worries me. Allot of the time users who download and run OSS programs don't even know that they are Open source or in any way related to Linux. We cannot rely on peoples views being tainted by apps especially when they have a "Windows look and feel" as most of them do. In fact almost every app. I've seen running on Win has the Win. theme.
One of the few examples of softwarethat buck this trend I can think of is Valves's Steam which to my knowledge is not in any way OSS.
The Os community need to help open the minds of the average joe bloggs end user, by giving apps targeted at Windows an alternative theme- anything: Cocoa, Aqua, KDE - all of these are perfectly nice and not "assimilated" into windows.
It is possible not to scare off users just becase an app doesn't hav Win L&F.
I disagree, We don't have the same political BS u have to put up with. it may not be as capable as NASA's space shuttle in that it's quite small and could carry limited payload, but actually, its probably a good bet that satellites payload will continue to shrink.. I suspect its primary use will be as a stepping stone to manned space missions..
I like to think of it as something akin to the X project - only more serious and professional. I should be a versatiile craft at just 7 metres ( whats that - about 10 feet in your language). It seems to look pretty sleek and should not be rigged with big cimbersome computer tech. like the shuttle thanks to great advances in (primarily) American semiconductor technology...
I think that distributed computing is wonderful. It allows us to divide and conquer which is what the developed world should be about.
I agree that the analysis could just as effectively be done using bif-O notation and all that, but I still dont think we should knock it. If you have a problem with people factoring RSA keys, then just dont take interest - go somewhere else.
Personally, I would like to distributed computing used to find out more about the origins of our universe etc..
score =0, offtopic
Is your signature supposed to be profound or funny.
I think of it as like my "big picture" analogies.
To many people live there lives like there in prison because they're surrounded by freedom but they cannot see it!!!
Your example is sorely lacking.

This is really at the fabric of OSS.

I predict people will still be playing World of Warcraft in 30 years!!
Don't get me wrong, you'll find no sympathy for
M$ here but:
The first a-bomb was developed as a proof of concept. This guy should keep his virii to himself
The best are never heard about in public web sites...
Yep, scary stuff.
Maybe M$ broke down his theta brain waves or something.
The natural progression of development would be former M$ employees amending their ways and working for Linux, not the other way around?

lol- that made my day!
Yep, I just thought of a new number - zoobol

Im gonna sue your ass if u make a site caled zooble..

Anyone agree?..
I disagree,

aka naught aka nada aka nothin
Ireland is NOT part of or in any way affiliated with the UK.
How's that?
That would be big-O

You are asserting its not. This may or may not be a good assertion. You may now induce my lack of
deciseiveness on the matter.
Yes, why invent the wheel when you can reinvent
it.
That would be beer!
