vaguesness to simulate depth - bingo.
I must'a missed that post.
2 things:
The sequels are spiritually bankrupt and you can't help but feel that humanity lost in the end. Too much machinery.
LOTR is all about humanity and beating the odds...
Also, the language is common waffle. LOTR is full
of proper English that doesn't stress people any more than they need to be.
It does not need to commit suicide. The Martians are reponsible for all the other losses.
They got pissed off with our trade embargos against them, and our descision to end bilateral peace negotiations. Apparently tourists are no longer welcome on Mount Olympus Mons either. Damn reds!!
Whe will people see the truth?
Yes Morgahastu.
I reall like your moral compass.
You sound like the kind of person that would like to kill people with a new weapon so you can discover a medical treatment for that weapon.
Please.
Thats dishonnest. I fou want to raise awareness for genetic engineering for heath purposes then one should simply talk to those people not in the know and TELL them.
-they should not develop pointless god craving capabilities and tamper with nature for NO reaon what so ever.
I think I'll genetically engineer one and call mine Nemo. Nemo will have the gift of breathing when not in water. Then I will engineer the water to be breathable by humans and we can visit each other!!
Maybe then I'll engineer a cow into a horse.
Yeah sure, why should I have to buy an animal that someone like God created. What would he know??
The name must stay though.
And also, I really like the format of the site.
No one minds an improved twin of the site if there is new technology to improve banwidth - the world can be slash dotted faster!.
But I do hope there is no major new design change. People often cannot resist doing this.
if a site is popular, don't change it's content and style ; )
The flute robot for me is far more impressive.
It uses more intricate actuators, like fingers.
It obviously has to to this quickly and precisely to play the flute properly -
cool
I agree that it can be abused.
We all know about ho x rated sites are popup nightmares.
With mouse gestured in Jscript you could manipulate the users seemingly innocent keystrokes to open up more _unwanted_ stuff. -
Annoying
Also I had a look at the site an noticed how easy it must be to inadvertently shut down your browser with the given code -
all you need is 2 key strokes accidentally and the window will close -
Annoying.
Sorry, I know I'm being negative.
For those of us with good intentions, they ARE useful!
Yeah that's great.
We've already seen how Saddams forces were armed with mainly Russian and some Chinese/American and french weapons.
Now we can give them e-bombs.
That way when Al Quida want to bomb the HSBC building in Istanbul like they just did they can now use an e-bomb to screw up all the emergency exits, and lighting, just bfore the car bomb goes off.
That way they can use the hysteria for a higher kill rate..
Please, who cares. It's another weapon that should never have been invented.
Whatever happened to ethical science??
I think that's the guy.
He has mafia/card shark/donnie brasco admirer written all over him.
In think he should be a writer. Make a "Catch me if you can" style movie with a Donnie Brasco type hacker.
"..He started out doing mob steak outs..then he got cosy..eventually, he provided a multi-source secure voip and database solution for them, then he got a taste for all things Mafia.."
Mandrake though good choice, I'm using Mndrk. 92
at the mo and I love it so far. However, for this kind of job I think I would use even more paranoid security, OpenBSD aughta do!!
Anyways, the story is clearly false. No codenames, and too many clues - way too many. If it were true there would be some guy in the FBI raiding their joint right now....Oh, maybe thats his plan: If he makes it seem unrealistic, the Feds would ignore the operation!!!
In any case it would be sloppy work, I don't believe it. Intersting read though. Thanks Wired!!
I'm sure I'll get (Score: 0, troll) for this but,
this does disturb me.
I saw a program on the BBC the other day, unsurprisingly apalling as usual.
It demonstrated the inequality of China as a handful of volunteers were working in a village to help aids sufferers.
There reward from the Chinese government:
A good beating according to a friend of mine from the region.
The program showed how the volunteers were tracked by the government as China wants to deny the existence of these sufferers to the outside world....meanwhile:
China plans top go to the moon.
That government need to take a 1 way trip to the mars if you ask me.
"It's not the destination thats important, it's the journey".
I don't like the journey China is taking.
I cant wait to get my motorised unicycle.
I can kill at will now and it would be impossible to sue....as all I have to say is that I find it difficult to drive, then change my name to Damien, and...
Geoffspar,
You have an imagination, because you tried to tailor a google search, I am impressed as most are too mediocre for this.
type "radiation shield" into your search engine.
You may be pleasently surprised...
Whats the easiest way yo learn about an OS/APP and so compromise it???
By working for the company in question of course - access to the source code!!
I think it would be very funny if this turned out to be true.
In any case, the person may have used to work for M$ or knew someone that leaked the source.
Another issue
This kind of behaviour (if it takes off) could change thew landscape dramatically.
Let me put it this way. There are allot of people that could crack if they wanted too, but have a moral concern.
With these bounties, they can use their guile to ensnare crackers.
Honeypots could be used. I t may well be that the kinds of people that track down the creators of MS blast etc. are people that hack microsoft themselves!!, obviously they won't tell them that.
We may start to see hackers infiltrating other hacker communities to betray them...
It's all quite scary!
This is great, I'm Irish, and I basically feel obliged to support Euro O.S.' where possible but I don't like SuSE and......now I don't feel obliged to anymore..
because now their American, and they are C0RP0RAT3, booooo....
Think I'll just use Red Hat or Mandrake from now on!!!
I'm tired of hearing about all these new fangled things that people are stupid enough to inveest in and never use. With all that life sucks up (job, other needs) there is little room for all this, those that buy these things are suckers, there are e-mail cafes everyehere.
If you really want a lan game you can do it without that much inconvenience, same goes for e-mail etc.
Too many people are willing to have new gadgets hanging from there ears, inside there clothes, inside their watch, up their ass!!!
We are not borgs.
There is only one gadget I want.
Every day, I dream of the spiritual and intellectual satisfaction this gadget would give me.
What is it?
A high powered radiation dampener / jamming device..to save my body from being dowsed in EM radiation and maybe help others too, and so I won't have to listen to insecure muppets groaning into their cellphones on the bus every day I come home from work.
I have strong feelings on this subject as you may know.
I am also disappointed in Nokia especially right now
Another factor: In general, European cities are older / more historical etc. It is not as ease to get planning permission to dig up roads for fiber optics. This makes wireless feasible.
But, the US generally has taller buildings, so why are you not using this advantage?
Also, satellite broadband is becomming increaingly popular with very high bandwidth:
Germany and the Netherlands have excellent satellite services in place. France and the UK are not far behind.

You can get used to things too easily. Thats the problem!

I think you may be wrong thelizman, This process is far more efficient - just 2 steps. It has commercial validity. Sounds a bit icky though ~(

Yes they are. I like Red Hat.
They have a operations centre in France and America,
I'm actually not sure!
Thats correct, my dream device combines them both in one delightful package
Actually you are wrong geoffspear. Radiation dameners for example power themselves off the radiation generated by EM rad. producing devices !!
