    And here it is...
I overclocked my 800Mhz Athlon-K7 to 1.1 Ghz using a home-built watercooler. I took an aluminum heatsink and epoxy'd squares of plastic around 5 sides, drilled holes in top piece and fit it with brass barbs. I checked it for leaks, then added 4ft of vinyl tubing, an aquarium pump, and a 2 quart pitcher of ice water sitting next to the case. Oooooh yeah! Pure. Geek. Bliss.

  2. eliminating the lowest common denominator on Attempt to Apply Decency Standards to Cable/Satellite Television · · Score: 1

Ok, giving this guy the biggest benefit of doubt I can, I'm interpreting this story as he has a genuine concern for the quality of television because it is such a huge part of our culture and he wants the consolidation of media because it is easier to control that way.
What is being refered to here as censorship, removing "offensive" material from media, can be construed as improving it; raising the quality of the information and entertainment we enjoy. Taken this way, I can fully support what he wants, but not the way he wants to do it. You can look at this as one slightly misguided approach to the very difficult problem of mass media catering to the lower common denominator.
I think we should have higher quality television. Personally I'd start by removing such "news" programs which attempt to dazzle thier viewers with "clear and balanced" reporting that only marginally pertains to the lives of anyone watching.
But the real problem with censorship is that its not easy to agree on what should be deemed fit for public consumption. The best solution I can come up with is increasing funding for National Endowment for the Arts and starting a grass-roots campaign to get some networks to try more progressive programming. But what do I know.

I'm just waiting till I can buy my new HAN watch with all my environmental preferences and ssh key hash. I'm imagining sitting at any computer and as soon as my hands touch the keyboard, it configures it the way I like it. Heck, at 10mbps, given sufficiently small storage, My hands could touch the keyboard and it could connect to the PC on my wrist for all the data and programs I take with me all the time. PC terminals will replace desktop PCs and even laptops. The PC becomes truely personal, something you don't even notice you're wearing until you need it. Daddy likes.

Punishing the foolish will not remedy the situation. Relatively inexpensive lenses (compared to tracking down pen-laser owners) are available which filter out specific laser wavelengths; so as to prevent eye damage or distraction form effecting the flight crew (http://www.elvex.com/laser-spectacles.htm). A man who unintentionally jeopardizes a flight through ignorance is being prosecuted as a man who was attempting to target for a missile. 25 years!? This sounds familar. I'm still waiting to see those WMD's in Iraq.
