You'd think if you were buying some devices claiming to detect something-or-other, you would try out a specimen and see if it works. Did all of these countries he sold them to fail to do any testing on whether they worked?
You see they are not using them right. They are trying to detect 'real bombs', when clearly this is a 'fake bomb' detector!
If ICANN were actually managing this crap sanely it wouldn't be that hard to share. No reason that conservation.amazon and shopping.amazon couldn't both exist under different ownership.
Exactly! No one should own a top level domain. Imagine if the internet started that way and one company bought the entire.com TLD. This is exactly what we are seeing now.
It seems to be smaller than you imagine. From a recent article at Ars about AMD: "Game consoles are a relative drop in the bucket compared even to the dwindling PC market (Microsoft has sold a little over 70 million Xbox 360s since 2005, and the PC market can generally meet or beat that number in a single quarter)"
4 it's an unkucky number in Japan.
17 it's also an ulucky number in Western countries.
Coincidence? we at TV-Show-On-Whacky-Therories don't think so.
According to the Wikipedia entry for 17:
Described at MIT as 'the least random number', according to hackers' lore.
In Italian culture, the number 17 is considered unlucky.
When viewed as the Roman numeral, XVII, it is then changed anagrammatically to VIXI, which in the Latin language it translates to "I have lived", the perfect implying "My life is over.
The fear of the number 17 is called 'heptadecaphobia' or 'heptakaidekaphobia'.
Microsoft loses nothing because they are collecting for these patents.
Not only that! They could potentially be collecting twice for the same device. Say HTC/Motorola/Samsung gets Foxonn to manufacture the phone, both companies potentially get to pay Microsoft.
This is a little different though. They were tracking the device before, but now if you change phones withhout your carrier's knowledge your usage on the new device still identifies you as an individual.
the biggest snake oil seller in the audio world.
Sorry, that's Monster, but I agree that Bose seem seriously overrated.
Can I have one that turns into a mongoose?
My cellphone turned to a newt. It got better!
What is a Chameleon?
All things to everyone
Run run away

Amazon probably wants the .amazon tld to protect the "intellectual property" of their name..
Yes, I'm sure they do. And there's nothing wrong with that. But an easier way to do it is simpley don't create a TLD of .amazon. Problem solved.
That's no solution at all - ICANN dosen't get its big fat cheque!
and the console market is not small

I came here to say the same thing. EVERYTHING shakes the world. My typing is doing it right now. Stop saying garbage like that to hype things.
Can you please stop typing? I'm trying to pour a glass of water!
We already have this in Canada, but it's currently limited to sweat and farts.
So they will play the first 140 bytes of the song ?
No, they'll choose a bit rate to make all the songs 140 bytes. It'll be fine!
It'd suck having to put up with trash talk from Stephen Hawking after he won a bet with you.
Like this from Big Bang Theory: "Professor Hawking: What do Sheldon Cooper and the black hole have in common? They both suck."
Yes, I'm an idiot. I read super as sugar.
Homer Simpson predicted this - "First you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women."

Don't you mean "RedundAAncy?"
It's a sAAd day for AA.
It's AA sAAd dAAy for AA
I hope you get modded 'redundant' to complete the joke.

Yeah. This sounds just like a profiler, which has been around forever. Is there something new here, or am I totally off base here?
While the lawsuit is silly, there is zero evidence that this was their revenue plan.
Oh really!
so how does a BLINK differ from an ALINK?
It's one more. It goes to 11.
Rust. Why?
Because Rust Never Sleeps!
"Lets go green by making all of our always on 18,000 desktops run at full load at all times."
Makes sense to me.
I think by "going green", he means "making money".

Now let's first use it on our politicians.
Why? We already know.
You know if you spin the laser dot in a circle it makes the videos load faster, right?
Well, only clockwise. The other way will show it down, or cause time to go backwards or something.
Hmmmm... I would consider playing some of the old Wing commander titles again...
