    Well, eye candy may or may not be bad in OSX - if I had the money to waste, I'd get a Mac and dual boot with Linux. As far as KDE goes, you may be able to turn this "eye candy" off, and KDE isn't forced on you if you just want to use Linux.

    Too bad "being a jackass" isn't illegal. Frankly, "disorderly conduct" sounds like legal bullshit to me, one of those things that isn't really illegal until some old hag complains about it, like those laws about swearing in front of women and children.

    The vision system has to be the most efficient way to grab the randomly placed tetras during autonomous - you are not allowed to manipulate your robot after the position numbers are revealed, and who wants to randomly search and pray?

    The whole point of the game is tic-tac-toe - you get twice as many points for creating a line as you do just by stacking the pieces on top of each other.

    They've done some things to make the programming easier and are practically forcing us to use this camera vision system when most veteran teams didn't bother with infrared sensors that were available last year, which basically destroys any competitive advantage our team (217) seems to have had. (always mechanical problems) I'm kind of disappointed as a programmer since it's all going to come down to lack of mechanical failures and driver skill.

    Bittorrent wouldn't work for Portage - it's a lot of tiny files that change all the time, whereas Bittorrent works well with a large file that's pretty static.

    The analog solution works at 1x - it takes as long to transfer the content as it does to listen to it. This can easily be construed as inconvenient.

    To provide a less hypothetical analogy, let's say you're highly allergic to peanuts (can't smell them or you'll go into anaphylatic shock). It's your problem to make sure you don't go around them, not ours. The difference here, however, is that cigarette smoke is unhealthy for EVERYBODY.

    For a company that is so phenomenally rich you'd think they'd settle down and go enjoy the rest of their lives and do something usefull, like sitting in the garden.

    the IM services (AOL, we're looking at you) will be coerced into more aggressive Gaim-blocking in fairly short order. This will result in your loser friends that you can't get to use GPG or gaim-encryption complaining that it doesn't work (they're too lazy to get the update the Gaim people put out within 3 hours of the block, remember) and forgetting the whole idea. Good idea in theory, but you have to convert your friends to Jabber at the same time.

    Sorry, sex is a part of life and adult relationships. Goodness, listen to yourself: "If the teenage girls would stop having sex". What were you thinking? Anyway, condoms alone have their issues, but my sources suggest that they are extremely reliable if used properly and much less reliable if not used properly, which is why education about proper birth control (condom + vaginal spermacide, handling) is key. It's worth pointing out that I am a senior in high school who was, due to abstinence-only sex education, unaware that these things were so damn complicated. Good thing my ex was allergic to latex, I guess.
