There's a big difference between completely unregulated monopolistic behavior, and enough regulation to ensure safety, security, and fair competition. I haven't read the book, but did see the movie, and don't think it was pushing the former.
Even the slowest runner in the Olympics is better than 99% of the other runners in the world. #20 isn't terrible, but no, let's listen so some AC who probably applied to MIT, but ended up at a helldesk.
I get ya, but I was responding specifically to the metro DC area and it's ~9.5 million population, of which I'm one. I'm also near the glidepath to Dulles airport, but more than 5 miles, so the change from 30 down to 15 miles helps me since I'm ~20 mi. from DC
In a perfect world, sure we'd all cooperate to achieve our Utopian goals. But in every group project I've seen, some people excel, or work hard, and some people expect to just let other lead, or do all the work. Competition, as long as it's not at the expense of others, as in your Monopoly example, doesn't have to be a negative, and in fact drives progress with incentives. But, you do have to control monopolistic behavior, which is something the U.S. has gotten away from since breaking up AT&T, and going after MS.
How about a link? There's no indication of the methodology, conclusions, etc. If the title is the conclusion, how did they determine that these individuals were not already cheaters? Is it because people who are more competitive tend to cheat more?
Not trying to troll, but how much acreage does it take to get the equivalent output for a coal, nuke, or natural gas plant/wells? My knee-jerk guess is that it's a lot less, but I don't know.
And yet, for both sides, anyone relying on the media to have accurately reported the story, needs their heads examined. They're wrong nearly as often as they're right.
I mean, you don't hear about cheating nearly as much in other "sports" where they depend upon mechanical equipment... Nascar
Good thing you quoted it if you will mention nascar. If you can do it with a beer belly and 30kg extra weight around the midriff it is not a sport! The reason you see this in cycling is that it is a sport: your athletic ability is a key determinant of your success.
Were you required to take Chemistry in school? I was, for a full year. And, while I've often debated the usefulness of that, a year of exposure to important topics gives a kid a feel for if they like or have a knack for it. Chemistry wasn't for me, but I have no regret having spent the time learning about it. Many kids don't won't know until they try it.
You don't know what's transmitted, and what's not.
there is insufficient local processing power to do the interpretation
There's been plenty of processing power to do it in your PC dating back to the 80s.

and indoctrinateTAs on issues of diversity.
FTFY
If only we could get some decent peer review. Maybe it was different back then?

Thanks for the click bait /.
What is wrong with those rules ?
Only that it means that ~9.5 million people are unable to fly a drone in their own back yards. Pure bullshit.
...and avoid other aircraft.
Will the oppressive over-regulation never stop!?
So, does this prohibit a "Battle Bots" style drone contest?
I haven't read the article so I don't know if he's right....

I'm eating my Lucky Charms now. You'll have to go to the end of the rainbow for your pot of gold.
Just because you don't believe it's viable, doesn't make it so. It's exactly where the Libertarians are.

They've admitted their crime. All that's needed is the sentencing.
Oh yeah, you ACs are probably all just trying to convince us to let our guard down. Die you nazi swine!
I've heard the nest is infected with worms!
and I'm quite sure I'm above average

The Pats have also benefited from plenty of incorrect calls by the officials.

Yeah, you see a lot of those, don't you.

RIGHT! Like the Teagaggers will tolerate his All for me once he's in office.
Here we are, discussing "Donald Trump spews forth a trolling stream of hate", and on the other side we have this.
Maybe both sides could cease with this childishness. We'd all be better for it.

True, but what do you think the percentage of women is that would refuse to go to bed with you for $1M?
