Read my post above yours. I hadn't played with FF for a while, and didn't know the size dropped with 0.9.
However, FF with all the Opera features (that are available as Moz projects) IS twice the size, if not more - that includes Thunderbird, and a bunch o' extensions.
OK, so I didn't realize that 0.9 got smaller (I read another article). It's just a meg bigger, and I have heard that Firefox has gotten faster, especially in UI (however, it was rendering speed that seemed slower to me).
I'm certainly going to try out the new Firefox, but I don't think I'll stick with it if it's much like 0.8 (or Firebird 0.7).
Opera's still half the size of Firefox, and it's got an e-mail client, IRC client, RSS reader, etc., etc. in there. It's got a Mozilla-like feature set, with a smaller-than-Firefox footprint, and it's one of the fastest full-featured browsers there is (non-full-featured being stuff like Lynx, Links, Dillo, etc.)
Also, I like that I don't have to install 10 extensions to get Opera to behave the way I want it to...
BTW, no, Freeshell doesn't have filtering, but I usually use a client to download it, and (AFAIK) M2 7.5x has a "statistical e-mail filter" (they refuse to call it Bayesian - apparently it doesn't use the Bayes algorithms), and 7.23 has an undocumented filter like that.
$20/yr? I think I like $36/account better. Also, what's their spam filtering like? Bayesian? Where do spams go? OK, so they have SMTPauth. Even SoftHome has that (2500 or 25000 (both options are given, because certain e-mail clients can only handle a four digit port number). 50MB? I can get 100 with the $36, and that comes with 100MB webspace and 100MB/home/username (OK, so it's really/udd/(first letter of username)/username, but you get the point, don't you?)

Open source? Damn. I'd say grab a copy of Windows Server 2003, and Exchange, and set it up. Almost full Outlook functionality, and it's got a lot of those features.
Now, if there were just an M2-like webmail interface (I use Opera M2, and it's indexing capabilities are like GMail on steroids...)
All ACTIVE blogger users. For example, my one-post blog (I ditched it for my/. journal quickly), Score:-5, Offtopic (score-5ot), didn't get it, because it's been inactive since October, and that was the only activity on it.
Hey, I didn't know about the other services until about 2001, and I had my bhtooefr@hotmail.com in 1997. That was when Hotmail was kick-ass. 2001, I told everyone I'm changing the domain to atmail.nl (hey, it was a pretty decent service), then yahoo.com (yes, Yahoo... THAT sucked pretty quickly), and finally softhome@net (obfuscated just in case the spambots get smart, although spam (and the SoftHome spam filter nuking legit messages) is a problem already). I'm considering moving to freeshell.org (I need to upgrade to ARPA ($36 one-time) to get SMTP access, though, but the FTP access won't be a bad thing either), which has 100MB storage. Of course, if I can get a GMail account, I may just use that...
For clarification, look at this tiny piece of BASIC:
10 REM This is a demonstration of TODO code 20 PRINT "I am the greatest"; CHR$(7) 30 REM TODO Write looping code 40 REM TODO Put fake Applesoft prompt here, in case someone figures out the way to get out of the loop
It would show up in a Tasks list like this:
Tasks: Line 30 - Write looping code Line 40 - Put fake Applesoft prompt here, in case someone figures out the way to get out of the loop
When I had a Mac, it had Word 5.1 and Excel 4. I could get a good bit of stuff done on that... AFAIK, the article was about Mac Word 5.1, and applied to WinWord 5.1 too. DOS Word was atrocious - horrible UI.
I count NINE on their site, four of which are PDAs (two of which are Pocket PCs, though).
Now, if only they had a Symbian phone... (or Opera were on Palm OS...)
Heck, I'd even settle for my free 3588i (non-Vision) to be enabled (petition to Sprint) - it's got the wireless web capabilities, but Sprint's disabled them!
It's called they have a free phone or two, and they're either feature-loaded, or are the feature-loaded phones with the features disabled. My Nokia 3588i, for example, has the wireless web feature disabled. It was a free phone from Sprint. However, a Nokia 3100 from AT&T had everything but the camera and Bluetooth, and it was free too (had better battery life, too - even though it had a bigger, higher-res screen - could it be because it was GSM, and not CDMA?)
Ahh... you got sucked into THAT FUD. There was one in DOS 6.x, called Microsoft AntiVirus (MSAV.EXE). It was based on Central Point AntiVirus. A Windows version (MWAV.EXE, I think) came with it.
Because it wasn't MS doing it - Central Point made it, and Central Point got bought out by Symantec.
BTW, this caused much FUD. I remember the old "expert" of the family saying that Windows 95 came with an antivirus program, and the copies of IBM AntiVirus I kept putting on mysteriously disappeared every time... (I didn't install on his box, though...)
Most DVD players have an undocumented "VCR Friendly" mode, which turns off Macrovision. The only thing is, it's EXTREMELY illegal in the US. Read: Qrsrngvat Znpebivfvba (naq ernqvat guvf grkg) vf n ivbyngvba bs gur Qvtvgny Zvyyravhz Pbclevtug Npg bs 1998.
I might update to 7.51 and try again - this box hasn't been updated. FWIW, here's the rest of the specs:
2.0GHz Celery (the only 2.0 Celery core was Northwood) 256MB RAM (hell if I know the speed - I've never been in the box or run CPU-Z on it) 40GB NTFS 8.4GB FAT32 (from an older HP) PC Chips M925 (ECS branded)
Before anyone flames me for the PC Chips mobo, it's not exactly my box. My box is a 233 Pentium MMX, 96MB EDO, 8.4GB ext3, 4.3GB ext3 (for/home), a Biostar MB8500TTD, and it runs Mandrake 10 Community with 2.4.22 (because I upgraded from 9.2). It's pretty slow, and I haven't gotten a chance to set it back up yet. The version of Opera on it is 7.50b1, and it seemed faster than 7.23 (not to mention, more stable).

Opera's screwed now... No cell phones? Damn, that sucks...

The thing is, SoftHome (AFAICT) treats the validation e-mail as a spam, and drops it. Unfortunately, I don't get to see it because of this.

I thought that was just the support for creating a TODO remark that added an item into a todo list along with a line number to go with it.

Hmm, so RAID 10 is a RAID 1, and then that RAID 1 copied to a RAID 0? That's what it looks like to me...
I thought you were joking AND being serious. Heck, when Mandrake 10 Community came out, I HAD just installed 9.2...
RTFA (or heck, RTFBlurb) - you can use something called Swaret to update the distro to 10.0 RC1.

Thanks - OK, so Firebird is going to be the shortest lived name upon the release of Firefox 1.0...
