In case you didn't know, I said LinuxBios AND Bochs BIOS because a branch of both was once made that worked MUCH better. It was because LinuxBios was designed for real hardware, while Bochs BIOS was designed for maximum compatibility with software, but fake hardware.
The IBM BIOS source code has been public since 1981 (don't know if it still is). It was prohibited from being used in one's own BIOS, though - that's why Compaq had Phoenix make the BIOS. What I want to know is if the copyright on the old BIOS has expired or IBM has released it so that anyone can use it. If so, I think it's time for a SourceForge project, branching IBM BIOS v1.0, LinuxBios, and Bochs BIOS into a new BIOS.
YHBT (by Phoenix!) Phoenix makes Award BIOSes. Go AMI (where?) and IBM (hmm, why exactly does Phoenix exist? Oh yeah, because IBM won't license the BIOS)!
IBM and AMI? That's hardly competition, as IBM won't license their BIOS (which is the whole reason Phoenix was started) and AMI is rare now. LinuxBios? Not close to complete! BTW, is the old 1981 IBM BIOS code in public domain yet?
The other options are IBM and AMI (unless IBM switched to something else - Award == Phoenix). Since laptops with the AMI BIOS are VERY rare or old, it's IBM (not bad laptops, BTW).
Yes, but I'm using it anyway. I've STILL got Karma 48 (possibly because this whole thread is hidden). It's OT, but I know what I'm doing. BTW, I'm not logged in to any of the IM services (I didn't list bhtooefr@hotmail.com - no room) - haven't been in a couple months. As for the geek code, decipher it. Now.
God dammit, I'm in a trollwar, and now it's a browser holywar too?
Opera is the best browser for my needs. Why should I run Moz just because someone's doing pagewidening? BTW, I said emulating Lynx made the page wideners not work.
I'm helping police Slashdot right now, and I figure blowing some karma should prove how devoted I am to offing this guy (from Slashdot). I'm posting with karma bonus for a reason - my posts can last longer that way.
Yes, I know it's stupid to fight in a trollwar with a non-troll account (my only account, too) with Excellent karma (~48), but I have to do it.
Moderators, don't mod me down or funny, but I won't be pissed - I know what I'm getting into here.
I was having problems with Opera - unless I emulated Lynx using my User Mode CSS stylesheet picker. Interestingly, I didn't get modded down for any of that (AFAIK - it was all AC).
Yeah, I'd trust internet access from THAT company! Glad I don't like in Pakistan, I guess! (The US isn't much better, though... but at least we have a pseudo-democracy, and not a dictatorship...)
Umm, not at all - **AA still gets your money, as the seller now has money that they may use on more **AA products.
Canon printers aren't great, but they're the best inkjets. Minolta has a cheapo $200 laser that's really nice - and last I checked, Staples had it for $150 with free shipping, and a $60 mail-in rebate brought it down to $90. Gamespy? Why? MS? Can't... get... out... WalMart? Sorry, but it's too damn cheap, and they didn't fuck ME over too badly. BTW, you forgot Belkin - my last Belkin products are:
39' total Cat5e (my 25' stripped down to the wire - time to buy some more NON BELKIN!) 10/100 card 10' RS-232 extension Countless power strips
That's 9x/ME, yes. Can you tell everything is centered, and the mode is 80x25? (Yes, it's on it's side, but that's not the point) If it were NT, everything would be left-aligned, there would be no inverse text, and the mode would be 80x50.
It's a WIN.INI setting, and it only works on Windows 3.1 and up, not including NT-based versions. It is kinda interesting that it was a KSOD (K is black, OK? - that's how they do it in printers) instead of a BSOD, as the Xbox uses a Windows 2000 kernel, which bluescreens.
Umm, they just finished rebuilding. I saw it on the CBS Evening News (AFAIK - IANANR (NY Resident - I live in Ohio)) And wouldn't that be red/orange/yellow/grey screen of deathed?
Why not use a Model M, the world's best keyboard? They're really easy to clean, too - take the keys off, put them in the silverware compartment of your dishwasher, remove the cable (if applicable), and throw the keyboard in the dishwasher.

The Celerons and Mobile Celerons built on the Pentium III don't count?
Isn't that something involving X97:L97? BTW, Excel 2000 has a racing game.
The ones he got from VA didn't turn out that well. It was the redhat shares that made him a millionaire.
The stock lost money today. Switch to 1d and you'll see what I mean.
Make that three, at least. I'm out of this trollwar NOW!

WTF?!?!? Offtopic AND troll, but also funny!

Actually, that wasn't what I was thinking. If a message is modded 3 inf/1 redund, it would get a score of 70, and be put in the informative bucket.
Must have crashed already, but was just going the rest of the way downhill!
With Linux, it can be ANYTHING. Mine's black, but SuSE defaults to light blue with a SuSE custom image surrounding it.

A hub, maybe? Put a metal hub in the transition point, plug the plenum cable in, plug a length of riser cable in, etc., etc.
