You can't redistrubute the maps you make with it. It's as non-free as could be, including the fact that they LEGALLY own any maps you make, and expect royalties on them even though you paid for them.
He said that it wasn't secure because of false pinpads, but the data being sent is the most secure. And he's right- I've worked on Hypercom's ICE series of terminals, and the pinpad is the only really secure piece of data being sent out from the terminal itself.
Of course it's easier for them to go into space now. We have millionaires with their own space program. Everybody is going into space now. When America (and Russia et al others) had done it in the 1960-70's, it was ground breaking technology. Now it's just a hobby. You can't diminish such an amazing part of Western Civilization's history like that.
A.I. was never really a book, just a sci-fi rendition of Pinocchio with some inspiration of a few PKD short stories thrown in for good measure (Super Toys Play All Summer Long, I think was the one). That's like saying "O Brother Where Art Thou?" is a terrible rendition of "The Odyssey". And besides, I doubt if AI would have been better if Kubrik would have directed it- it seemed too light hearted for his slow and panning style of film making. I personally enjoyed the movie.
am I the only one whose ever read King Rat?
And yes- even after reading years of terrible fantasy, I think he's an over-rated hack as well. Why? Even though he is pushing boundries, that is all he's good at. He doesn't have the voice and the brilliant writing that a lot of modern fantasy writers have. I really don't think he has any lasting power. He's just there to tear down walls. And while this is necassary, it's not something that will last forever.
You've just put into words what I've been meaning

I remember one History's Mysteries episode where they tried to debunk if Archimedese could build a death ray in ancient Greece using mirrors. They showed that the amount of mirrors needed to make it more than just "really hot" was physically implausible.
Which also means that the devices people are using at today's Build-In will be illegal in four months.
I am not a lawyer, but isn't illagality of Ex Post Facto part of the constituition? The point is they are building it before a law (might) go into effect. They can't be persucuted for building something before a law exists, after it's taken into effect.
It was good, but he needed to show more code and less equations. Most of the book is equations, with very little code behind it. Sometimes it helps to see how something looks (programmatically speaking)

It's shareware, but it's excellent. And it does have any annoying ads, nor does it send any data across the web were someone can steal it.
So far, it seems faster, and it's been around longer.
Root for the little guys and grab it.
And swore never to watch that bile again. No Japanese games were commenced other than Final Fantasy as best RPG of the year. It was terrible. And almost every game that won was on the XBOX. Sick.
But Tiled won't create GBA maps.
I meant Dundjinni. I apologise.
And could you extropolate as to what makes it good compared to the other programs?

or zoom out, or let you just print sections of maps. Nor does it let you build electronic atlas's for your games. And the extention packs are pitiful.

For thumb-print recognition? Either way, how does this stop someone from using the credit card on a webpage?
I have some old PC's lying around, a few monitors (colour), that I would be willing to part with for a good cause.
I've already donated some that I bought at an auction and fixed up to Good Will. If someone starts this charity it would be a *great* idea.

Hmm. I just assumed it was PKD, since it also inspired some scenes in Blade Runner. I haven't read Aldiss, I think I'll have to pick it up.

Then they will find the Lunarains from Final Fantasy 4! Take that you spoony bard!
but the rest of us, who don't actually believe every urban myth we here, know that we use our full brain capacity at all times.
or else you would know that they are MANGA and not MAGNA.
yes, typo, I know. But still....a real Otaku would use a japanese to engrish spellchecker.

Hmm. I've gto my PowerPC dual booting with Yellow Dog Linux. Too bad YDL doesn't support my sound card, or else it would just be booting to YDL.

It forces you to speak first, and after it fails five times then it asks you to type it in. It's not a choice up front.

it's the outsourcing I hate.
Although I would advise against immagrating to the US- esp in these times.
