The ultimate goal is to create sheets of paper-thin lighting devices that can be applied to surfaces in a similar way to wallpapering. Moving forward, in order to accomplish this and bring the product to market, GE needs to make the device even more efficient - eventually reach 100 lumens per watt - as well as develop a low-cost production system.
Remember 7-8 years ago?? Many were saying Yahoo! it.
until Yahoo IPO came along, until dmoz.org came along, and then Google came along...
Just curious... given a rope so strong, how would one untie or cut it if it is entangled.
Quite scary to be tied by such a rope.
Maybe it is just some audio player, with some preset mechanical actions, in some look nice cover.
I mean, how is it different from Honda ASIMO Humanoid?
Nevermind the rest of the 99%, especially if they are dups or trashy info.
These 99% might not be *intended* public info too. Privacy is consideration here.
A command line wizard? One where you have to type Next, Next, Back, Next, Finish?
Not quite useful for getting a newbie *truly* onboard.
Personally, I think a command line tool with _predictive_text_ capability will be more interesting. (Think mobile phone sms)
Don't you find the Ctrl-R to search back the command history in bash very useful.
means that it is still a long long wait..

For me, it is a dilema. Between an upgrade, you get a more efficient hardware at similar price-energy ratio, thus more energy "friendly".
But with these, you get headache junking old hardware, and suffocate our habitat.

And those sponsoring their phones changing habits was/were probably made believed into the false sense of security.
On a similar note on cost..
Maybe I am thick here, but why use a tablet?
Wouldn't a cheaper notebook, or trashware with LCD panel serve similar purpose?
The upfront economics do not make sense. If someone could elaborate..

and IBM may likely do it, to put their AIX stuffs behind Linux, given what they have already done.
It makes a lot of business sense for IBM to get open source Java, especially for their application server space.
Imagine Google mail applying this capability to help you draft a personalised reply message for each mail, when needed.
This should morph Turing Test a step further.

I propose to consider the question, "Can machines think?"
I wonder whether Google mail will index my mails. sounds spooky..
Exactly..
Those fears of cloning is quite irrelevant at macro(UN) level.
What is dear to research, is the potential in medical advancement.
Clone will still be an individual, equally valued or... unvalued. Like you or me..

What about Linux is a kernel surrounded by no GNU tools to make a complete operating system?
It sounds so puny arguing this sort of things.. my lecturer does it, some philosophers do it..
