I like zebra striping that uses a virtual 'ruler'. It highlights the row that you're currently on, then you can very easily zip across the columns and see what you're actually on.
mininova has a great implementation of this imho. I liked it so much I stole the CSS for my personal websites.
I live : 5 hours from my parents. 2.5 hours from Chicago 3 hours from my Alma Mater 4.5 hours from a Rugby tournament I went to at SIU 6 from where my family has Thanksgiving 7 hours from a tournament I went to in Nashville.
100 miles in the USA, to me, is very short range.
My diesel TDI does perfectly fine with the 600-800 range tank.
Have you ever done a clean install of XP on a Dell laptop?
Resolution is 640x480, ethernet doesn't work, wireless doesn't work, I had to resort to burning CDs with another computer to get the basic drivers on there.
From what I understand, No. There are ways, but nothing this simple. Your home folder is actually one massive 128bit AES disk image. So to crackers it just looks like one big file. You could do what I do and keep stuff 'private' (Tax Returns, financial stuff) on an encrypted disk image and have the OS NOT remember the password. Plus if you forget the password you don't lose all your music and other petty stuff.
I was in an Apple store once when someone brought in their file vaulted laptop computer. They had 'forgotten' their password (Their actual story was that the OS changed the password on them). Apple Genius told them they were SOL. There are ways, but none of them are easy and most require something like cooling the RAM immediately after shutdown or catching the computer when it is sleeping.
I guess I've got my Evil bit set because if I had the know how I would send a low level format command out. The bot net would collapse, people profiting from it would stop and maybe people would start putting pressure on Microsoft to actually do something. Maybe install a boot loader that puts up a "error" message:
"Your version of Microsoft XP has expired. Please buy a version of Microsoft Vista at your nearest authorized Microsoft dealer. If your computer does not support Vista you will be required to upgrade your computer.
Thank you for supporting Microsoft and not Linux or Apple. We appreciate your business.". Sure it's not nice, but if it gets people to actually take action then I'm all for it. There will always be more companies trying to profit, new botnets, etc, but if you can actually stop the botnet from starting by educating people, then you win.
Defense attorney William DuBois cross-examined the witnesses about Nina's extramarital affair with Reiser's former best friend, Sean Sturgeon. (The jury was not allowed to hear testimony that Sturgeon has confessed to killing eight people unrelated to the case, in retaliation for child abuse.). Ok. The whole article is spun towards Hans, but how in the hell is this piece of information not relevant?
I replied first;), but thanks for that rendition of Call of Ktulu. You know a song is well written when no matter the medium it can still give you chills down your spine. (Hence my favorite Hall of the Mountain king).
You do realize we vote on more than 1 thing at a time right? It'd have to be more like a jar of marbles. And then you'd have to prevent people from putting all their marbles in the vote for president.
"Your version of Microsoft XP has expired. Please buy a version of Microsoft Vista at your nearest authorized Microsoft dealer. If your computer does not support Vista you will be required to upgrade your computer.
Maybe then the end user would be more careful in the future and it would take them off of the bot net.

The load it with Emulators. Most of my friends aren't the huge gaming type. When we get together to hang out we don't want to sit through a tutorial on how to play SuperHappyBallComando4. We want the games we grew up with (and some from before then).
Super Mario Bros 3, Pong, Frogger, PacMan. Plus they make excellent drinking games (One shot for every fruit you didn't get on a PacMan level.) The best thing is an xBox can store ALL of these games and more.
Or you could even get some classic looking controllers and play these on the laptop.
OS X runs fairly well on the 'bare minimum'. So much so some people have hacked it to run on less than the bare minimum. In addition to the fact that each major release has run FASTER on all of my hardware.
I heard KDE 4 is supposed to be like that also.
Why can't Microsoft, who heavily recruits some of the best programmers, manage to do this?
It's a soy, milk, maker. I did my research and most websites and reviews keep coming back to this one being 'the best'. I haven't gotten the recipie down perfect yet for making it taste exactly like store bought milk. (For drinking straight) but when used for cereal and protein shake it's great.
I ordered soybeans here http://www.tosteds.com/products.asp?cat=11. 13 lbs for $20. You can get like 1/4 to 1/3 gallon from 100 grams of soybeans. So doing some rough google math I figured I can get around 15 gallons of milk for $20. Plus the Okara is still usable. I'm still experimenting with the recipes. But the few I've tried are pretty good (Again, it's not meat no matter what they call it). So for under a dollar I had 1/4 gallon of milk (which I didn't drink all that night) and a full dinner. Beats chicken at $2 / lb.

I'm a single male but other people who go through soy milk like water say that they make up the cost of the soy milk maker in no time. Especially considering it's like $3/quart
Agreed. I'm trying out soy milk and got a soy milk maker, mainly because of rising costs of Milk. I don't drink much but I can make a gallon of soy milk for cheap.
You can also use the left over soy product (Okara) to make stuff. I found this recipie for "Soy Chicken Strips." Now it's not bad at all. I liked it but to call it chicken strips is to insult chicken. It tasted absolutely nothing like it and didn't even have a similar construction.
Why not call them 'soy strips' or 'Okara paste' or something other than chicken.
I was under the impression that this was "invented" (yes MultiTouch has been around for a long time according to the WikiFingerworks.
In 1998, Fingerworks, a Newark-based company run by University of Delaware academics John Elias and Wayne Westerman, produced a line of multi-touch products including the iGesture Pad. Then Apple bought Fingerworks (according tomany rumors) and got all their IP and technology. I haven't run across any info on ASUS having this technology first. Unless they're the ones that bought Fingerworks and then licensed the technology to Apple.
OK, so maybe I was premature when I said that the similarities with Apple would end with the colours, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise! Just like on the MacBook Air, you can zoom in and out of images by pinching your fingers together, or pulling them apart. How are the Apple lawyers going to like this? Second, can it do all the other things the MultiTouch can do? The killer feature on my MacBook Pro is 2 finger scrolling, 2 finger right click, etc.
In the diesel world fuel is required to burn off trapped hydrocarbons.
On all new 2007+ truck engines a Diesel Particulate Filter is required to trap diesel 'soot'. What happens when this filter gets full is fuel is injected to heat up the the element and burn off the soot.
Also if you run your engine TOO efficiently you create NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen), which is also regulated as an emission. So if you're at a low load condition (say idle) you could get away with burning 0.1 gal/hr. But you'd be spewing NOx, so instead you burn 0.2 gal/hr so that you have 0 NOx (but higher CO2, which is unregulated).
I don't know how it works for gasoline engines. (Disclaimer, I work for one of the 'big 3' American diesel engine makers)

And Apple figured out how to do it so you could release for 4 platforms by checking or unchecking different boxes.
Why can't Microsoft figure out how to make it idiot proof for 2?

Ah, I forgot to mention I intended to format the HD. Delete everything.
People would notice.

I still prefer Apocalyptica. They got their start covering Metallica on cellos.
Plus their 'cover' of Hall of The Mountain King is one of my favorites.

Good Will. Garage Sales. Then download them. It's just a Media Shift, it's gray area. But you can feel nice and legal.

And the interface sounds strikingly similar to At Ease

So there's a 7 second 'thought to action' lag. When they start predicting what the scanner is going to say call me.
