And they want people to keep smoking cigarettes and eating fast food because it stimulates the economy and saves on Social Security. YES, in fact. These people die relatively quiet and inexpensive deaths, while boosting the economy and saving the gov't from dishing out SS payments. It is not a fact that McDonald's and Philip Moris like to advertise, but it's true.

I disagree, anyone still using NT4 will most definately upgrade since they are several generations behind in server technology. The question is, will they choose 2K or 2K3 Server? It depends on how therelease of 2K3 will affect the 2K price. Although soe businesses may be drawn toward RMS and Greenwich (hoping for PDA compatability), others may not want to be guinea pigs and wait 18 months. However,I think the NT4 genertion will die off soon.

Nintendo should have taken a hint before the GameCube. At this point they should trash teh Cube, develop a new system, the Erector, that would be able to play SNES and original Tetris for Nintendo 1 (including pluggable or remote use of the robot they had for awhile). Maybe then they wouldn;t have to rely on the GameBoy for rvenue so badly.

  25. Talk about a screw on Microsoft Opens Source to China · · Score: 1

So after the US and the "western world" has dished out billions on windows, the MS-MoneyMaker decides to screw us all by handing over the precious code that we pay so dearly for (businesses at least) just because its popularity is down. I see this as a marketing scheme to get the MS name out to theother side of the globe which is beginning to trade in their rice for mice and keyboards, and evetually will be a great force in the OS market. However, allowing the Chinese government to see any part of the code they want is not exactly good form for the "older customers". In addition to security questions ($0.10 says it spreads to Korea, Russia and the Phillippines, wher piracy is thriving), the new partner that Gates is so enthusiastic about, (Chinese gov't) is relying on Red Flag Linux to cooperate with windows. This is going to backfire onGates real bad, and possibly on US businesses too (like our economy needs it).
