"In communism corporations turn into property of the government. In the US the government is turning into corporate property."

For the example of AT&T, this program was surely foisted upon them by the NSA/FBI/CIA/GNAA/etc., not the other way around.

"I've come to simply expect that corporations are in full swing of subjugating the general public."

"There's a word for that system of government: Fascism."

Fascism is a power-triangle between the military, politicians, and an aristocracy. It was a Roman invention - Rome was a fascist state. The Germans added racial components, some romantic fairytales, and voila -- nazism.

The complete melding of corporations and government is the definition of communism.

Surely you did not mean to mislead us (?).

Cassette tapes sounded like total crap.

Cassettes sound a LOT better if you only use one side. (Of course albums were almost never sold that way.)

I have to admit, iTunes has temporarily killed my appreciation of music. Making playlists is a tedious task of sorting and searching for songs I like -- which means having to listen to songs I DON'T like in order to weed them out.

I have played all of my favorite albums to death... I don't enjoy any of them anymore.

It's much like a drug or any addiction - once you get all you want from it, then you become numb to it, and you barely enjoy it, and then it's just DULL.

The only way music excites me now is by hearing those songs on the radio, where it's comforting to know that I am not the only loser who loves a certain tune...

I am sure your new lady is a fine woman, and love and respect is ALWAYS more valued, but trust me... I hate it when good guys have their hearts broken when they inevitably discover that the best of all women long for those things. Because they do.

That reminds me of film legend Ed Wood (Jr). He directed a classic anti-porn "expose", The Sinister Urge in 1961. His every film after that slowly became more risque, until he finally started making softcore and even slightly hardcore productions.

(He was also known for wearing women's underwear, and one interpretation of his 180-degree attitude is that of a microcosm for his own personal sex life.)
