Clients can drive you nuts with multiple changes. (things they should have thought about in the first place)
One thing I did o get around that was to establish a set number of changes allowed once the final design was signed off on per month, and charge for any changes over and above that amount.
It's hard enough to get them to decide when it's up to their idea of what it should look like.
The games designed for monochrome screens for early Macs were the best. Dark Castle, Uninvited, Shadowgate, Colony, Loom, and Falcon. Also, Beyond Dark Castle, Crystal Quest, Shufflepuck Cafe, and the Monty Python Hypercard stack ruled too.
The bitmapped art from then is great as well, I still have all my pict files of Bloom County characters and clip art given out on user group floppies.
Sometimes, just sometimes, I think we'd be better off without colour monitors.
In recent days, a number of readers of Yahoo! News have commented on differences in the language in two Hurricane Katrina-related photo captions (from two news services). Since the controversy began, the supplier of one of the photos - AFP - has asked all its clients to remove the photo from their databases. Yahoo! News has complied with the AFP request.
Yahoo! News regrets that these photos and captions, viewed together, may have suggested a racial bias on our part.
All browsers have bugs, that's not the issue at hand. If my site works in every browser but IE, then there's a problem with IE that has to change. IE still breaks a ton of standards-compliant sites, and will do so for the foreseeable future. (you're using the MS 'future' now, so I'm sure you can attest, as your fellow win user Paul Thurrot just found out how crappy it really is)
This sucks for the real web developers who want to (and should have to) work only the amount they should need to in order to build a standards-compliant site. It's a shame that Microsoft has played such a dirty trick on the gadzillions of windows users.
no place is sacred,eh? Cray you a river? If you need this information right away, then don't go to the theatre. Wait for your calls and crap somewhere else, where people haven't PAID to avoid this sort of thing. You know 'vibrate' makes noise too.
Your values are screwed up, and I hope that for your own sake you take a look at them before someone straightens you out in a way you probably won't like.
The people you label as 'uptight' are actually acting the way humans are supposed to act when we go out. Being polite to others, turning off our phones, not talking during the movie, these are all _good_ things.
Those of you who were brought up to believe differently are going to have a shock when you lose out on opportunities because of your crappy 'gimme gimme' attitude.
Living in New York increases your ability to tolerate stupid people, but also encourages acting that way. As a matter of fact, most of the things your TV channels broadcast, especially reality shows encourage that type of behaviour.
what is wrong with you?! What the hell did your parents teach you?!??!
We're fucked if all the morons coming up are like this one.
If you're in a movie theatre, it's wrong, impolite, inconsiderate, whatever you want to call it to have a cell turned on, to answer it, or to open it so the light goes on.
This is just public decency, acting like a civilized member of society so that everyone there (WHO PAID THE SAME AMOUNT TO SEE THE MOVIE THAT YOU DID) can enjoy the same experience, not have it fucked up by some stupid kid who thinks he's more important and that his shit doesn't stink. (and thinks he's too important to wait 5 minutes after the movie for his messages to go through)
Try this again: the chainsaw ringtone is your silent mode. The chainsaw ringtone isn't a ringtone. It's your silent mode. The buzzing of a phone set to silent, vibrating is known as a 'chainsaw ringtone' because others can still hear it.
so crocs heal up a ton faster than humans. okay. their immune systems react much faster.
even if we use croc blood now, doesn't that mean the next strain of foo will be stronger and work regardless?
choice quote from TFA: '"The crocodile has an immune system which attaches to bacteria and tears it apart and it explodes. It's like putting a gun to the head of the bacteria and pulling the trigger," he said.'
"I want to conquer the world, give all the idiots a brand new religion."
great line from one of the last intelligent bands of our time.
Well, them and Propagandhi, anyway.
I'm very sympathetic to this issue.

Hear, hear.
Also SuperCard, which allowed a whole lot more to be done.
So many stacks.
I want a Stack Player for OS X.
they pulled the caption.
There's a press release too, "To Yahoo! News readers:

Neil Budde General Manager Yahoo! News"
So talking about it does help.
you missed it. They didn't link to it, they were pulling the flash file directly from his site.
That's an ass thing to do.
This is the first time I've heard of Fuddruckers. What a dumb name.
Cats are inherently evil.

Well,, that's a really defeatist attitude, but it's one that I expect to get from most people that are resistant to any kind of change.
It's hardly reasonable to say that larger nations won't be able to follow their lead.
The fact is, we will inevitably have to do the same, along with the rest of the civilized world.
Why would you reply with that?
What makes you think I care about what you've seen, or what actors you like?
Don't post like that, it's useless and adds nothing to the discussion.
wasn't funny. Try it out on someone next time before posting what you think is a joke.

Fucking children.
Where do you get the idea that film looks better than a DVD?
Every film I've seen is full of scratches, burn marks, nonstop lines, etc. There's no excuse for that, when the DVD does not have it.
The slashdotters who give a shit about their rights and actually care about making their voice heard did not see Episode 3 yet.
I haven't seen it, and don't plan to until someone else rents it and brings it over.
Choose with your wallet, it's the only way to make an impact.
It's not a matter of who's uptight.

you don't kneed to know when a call or message goes through.
You need to be watching the movie, unconcerned with things of the world.
If you're concerned with your cell, please, don't go to the theatre in the first place.
what is wrong with you?! What the hell did your parents teach you?!??!

It's not 'silent', turn it off.
Don't buy from FutureShop, Best Buy, EB, or Walmart if you ever want to have any choice down the road.
You need to spend more time reading the YRO section of Slashdot.
Find some indie game dealers, or buy online. Don't support the big-box assholes trying to take over the retail world.

Motorola / Freescale owns Metrowerks, and is probably still ticked about the lack of any chance of working with Apple again.
yup, Dell does this too.
GF's machine came with Windows on a hidden partition. Completely useless.
Why can't they just ship a CD with the thing?
Trailer Park Boys rocks!
note to mods: it's funny. it means 'evil eye' in italian.
