The organisms whose variations best fit them to the environment are the ones who are most likely to survive, reproduce, and pass those desirable variations on to the next generation.
What's going on!? Spammers aren't best fit! They really SHOULD be drowning in the ocean. I certainly don't want them reproducing!
If you have been placed on a blacklist, then something must be wrong with your system(s). If the problem is with insecurity and unrestricted relaying, you must fix that before becoming un-blacklisted. If the problem is with a customer, you must deal with them before you can have your IP/domain removed from the blacklist. We need a central service to look at cases and see when someone is "clean." Until they are, there system could still contribute to the spam problem and must be blacklisted.

I hate it when people say wireless is so incredibly insecure. It's true that the wireless signals can easily be picked up by anyone. It's also true that one can pick up radiation from cables to sniff packets on your "secure wired network."
The solution is to not rely on the hardware encryption of your card and hub. Instead, use encrypted streams for all communications from your laptop. Use SSH, never use telnet (that should be common sense). If you just do that, then you don't have to worry about someone sniffing your packets because they are encrypted (and if they're also hardware encrypted you have some nice double-encryption). Also, you could easily set up an ssh tunnel to your router for the http protocol or whatever else you need. That way you have the security through the air. Anything after that is subject to wires on the internet, which like I said before, give off measurable radiation.
In short, just remember to always use software encryption and not rely on the hardware encryption of your wireless devices. Simples as that.

Good job, IBM! It's always nice to see an industry leader promoting competition in the software arena. It forces all candidates to develop a better product. Perhaps this will spark some ideas with M$? (Not that they'll be any good, but still...;-) )
We have an IBM machine with 40 (yes, that's forty) gigs of ram. It only has a 60 Gb hard drive, and it's not too full, so putting the entire drive in ramdisk isn't out of the question. However, if the power goes out, the UPS probably couldn't keep it up long enough to write everything back to the disk!:D

Hmmm.. this seems to be turning into yet another Distro War [lite]. So, I'll try to plug in that LFS is the coolest, and if you've never done it before you're not a cool linux person. Red Hat, Mandrake, and the others are for getting work done, LFS is just plain cool. When you install it you learn about how linux really works and ticks--it's really satisfying. So, grab an unused box and throw it on.. it doens't take too long...;)
