For the longest time, I could not figure out why Itunes was saying it was moving songs to my Ipod, but when I checked my Ipod, it was Empty.
The worse part was I had it all loaded for an important marathon, got to the race, and then discovered it was empty. That was the end of Ipod and Itunes.
I found the problem was that what it thought was my Ipod - connected through a USB - was really a network drive. So it was acknowledging the Ipod when I connected it - but it was moving music to my 'G' drive. I had to remove all the mapped drives to get Itunes to see the Ipod.
Switched to Yahoo Unlimited/Dell DJ - problems gone.
And am I wrong, or are not "Top X XXX of XXX" simply the refuse of lazy journalists too tired to write a real article?
OR that 2005 ain't quite over. My perpetual motion machine will be released in November - surely deserving of #1.
Not only that, but you can use the acquired companies assets to secure a loan to pay for it. Part of the reason many companies don't keep a lot of cash laying around - someone might try to buy them using it - and then they retailiate by using that cash to buy their own stock to raise the price and prevent the acquasition.
Let players be able to put skills to train into a que so they don't have to log in exactly when the skill is done training to set the next one training.
As you are probably aware, your games are highly addictive. They have inevitably lead to some screwed up lives - failing classes, getting expelled, losing jobs, losing significant others, losing families, losing a lot.
By making such a good game, do you think you are culpable of the effects of the game _at all_ and are you thinking about putting in counter measures to allow people to better set limits for themselves within the game?
I was laying in bed watching Adult Swim when the commercial came on. I reached down for my phone and brought up the website - couldn't remember it right - "www.adat.org"?
Maybe if they could install a PC on the ship for those ~15 jump trading missions, I wouldn't mind waiting so long. I could install a MMORPG on the PC and play it while I pilot my ship.
Smething else - you can't really 'pilot' your ship. No joystick.
I'm afraid you are going to have to reconcile the fact that you are of such a small interest to the market, you are going to have to adapt or MOVE lest stop complaining as though someone has not deigned you personally unworthy of spending a few million dollars to the last mile wire to your house so you can pay $30 a month for a faster connection.
Good riddance with both, I suppose, as games will be either less expensive or better produced without the middlemen of publishers and retailers both taking a cut.
What purposes will a retailer serve? From the article:
We believe that retail stores will continue to be a key distribution channel for games for the foreseeable future as consumers are still interested in the social experience of shopping to purchase their games.
I go to EB for the 'social experience'? Please. I don't think the other shoppers I run into there, much less the staff, are well known for their 'social skills.' It's not like you're ever going to meet a girl in there.
I'd much rather set steam to download in the morning and it's ready when I get home from work.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. One thing I thought was missing was the technology tree for manufacturing stopped at five - and I got there - but it didn't branch out further into specialties - like ammo manufacturing, blaster manufacturing, etc. - so you could have more specialization and greater efficiency. I realize there was some skill that allowed for more efficient ship building, but that was it.
Anywy, I may revisit the game. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.
Here's my other frustration with the game - I wanted to be an industrialist. I started off by learning to pilot the big shipment vehicles with containers, etc. and moving items from one place to another, usually making a million or three each trip.
I would also have factories setup making ammunition. Not really much of a markup at all. I had spreadsheets and what not to determine what was most profitable. But there really was very little profit at all because it was so easy for someone else to also get manufacturing ability and just make their own stuff.
That's really the angle of the game I wanted to be involved with - manufacturing and marketing - but it just didn't seem to pan out into anything profitable.
Your argument is so well-reasoned that I am surprised it was not moderated "-1 Redundant."
I'd add that as a gamer, you can also take some risk and cut out the resellers from the profit, too - Ebay. I sold a ton of Xbox games through there at much higher prices than EB would be willing to pay for them.
The problem I found with Eve is that is is extremely SLOW and it is hard to get information on how things work. There are about a million different weapons you can put on your ship - fine, but I have no ability to really determine which is better than another.
It's an alright game, and I may yet return - and it has no grind - but no grind also means that it takes forever to get the skills you want to have. Months.
The price of the text books the school MAKES you buy for a class easily outpaces the price of a new cell phone with those features. Books are usually $90-$100 each and some classes require two or three.
Further, for those students who don't want to use a cell phone can buy a 'clicker' from the book store that uses standard IR.
OR you can maybe set it up to use old TV remotes. Maybe that should be the deal in the first place.
EAch month there are 50+ new albums released - and almost all of them available to me. True, the library is great, but so are new albums.
I remember going to buy the new Garbage album on the day it was released. My favorite band so I buy the album to be able to posess the physical item. But that same day it was available on Y! Unlimited, too.
Note that the determination was made after scanning through it and seeing the last line was 'You disgust me.' Why would I want to read a really long post when I know it ends with that. Up to that point there was no vitriol in this conversation at all.
I didn't read your post because you have no value to me.
However, I did read the first sentence and wanted to thank you for that new name I had not heard before. 'Greedertarian.' That's pretty good - you didn't actually make that up yourself, did you?
I think I'm going to have to start a club with that name.
You miss the key point through all of this and it is best illustrated by your use of the term 'your money.' For socialists/fascists/etc, at no point is it really 'your money.'

I worry that all the funny mods will discount it as a 'highly modded question'.

Can you explain how, exactly?
By making such a good game, do you think you are culpable of the effects of the game _at all_ and are you thinking about putting in counter measures to allow people to better set limits for themselves within the game?
What exactly is the AV Club? It's from the onion but as best I can tell they don't bring teh funny.
According to Marvel's website, it would seem I am correct, you are incorrect and must commit ritual suicide with your light saber.
Doesn't that require legible handwriting? I'm barely capable of that sitting down - much less while standing up.
Was he named Venom before he merged with Eddie Brock?
And what was it like to sleep with Principal Skinner's mom?
Some kind of religious organization - and it seemed plausible.
No - see, Venom is a giant black beast. HUGE.
Smething else - you can't really 'pilot' your ship. No joystick.

Does it also matter that I didn't know that Topher Grace and Tobey McGuire were different people? They look nearly identical - like brothers.
