This already happened. Years ago. I rarely turn on the wifi on my phone, even if I'm in range and even if I'm surfing the internet, and am sure that GPS is turned off unless I'm actually using it.
That makes much more sense. With about 4TB of disk space between the two computers, it'd be difficult to store a trillion numbers (considering that they'd need to be more than 32 bit integers).
Sorry, this is only semi-related to your post, but I'd rather not look for a better place to post this: I don't know why the summary even proposes the "gradually by another planet" explanation of reversing the orbit of a planet. If it's so gradual, eventually it won't be orbiting at all (before it starts to go the other way), and it'll fall straight into the star... right?
Yes, a fork of a fork. Under the circumstances, a fork would have been at most a rebranding of the same "fork," (CentOS isn't really a fork, in my opinion... but we'll go with what you said), so everything I'm used to would remain the same.
I use CentOS for most of my servers (except 2 nameservers), and was really hoping for a fork... mainly so that they rename it to something that doesn't suck, and so that they get a better logo and icon. Seriously... the CentOS logo and icon suck...
Yes, that's what I was asking. Microsoft didn't get sued for Windows being a monopoly, but because within Windows, WMP and IE were dominating. Within the iPhone's OS, not only is the built in maps program dominating, but it's very difficult (and against the contract) to install anything else.
"Apple requested we release Latitude as a web application in order to avoid confusion with Maps on the iPhone."
How does Apple get away with that as an excuse when Microsoft gets sued billions of dollars for simply including a web browser or media player with Windows? At least in Windows you can install a different browser!
Learning a language is easy. It doesn't take a degree to be able to program in C++ or any other language. That's not what schools should be teaching (at least after the first couple of courses).
As everyone else has said, it's the concepts that are important. It's not unheard of for a software company that develops only in language X will hire someone who has never used that language before. It doesn't take long at all to get familiar with a new language once you already know a few.
That movie was a large part of my childhood (Moonwalker), and I had to watch it again yesterday. For me it will always be a classic, even though it's no longer for sale...
The SSDs that they offer don't read faster than 1.5Gbps? I know many don't, but even I (an apple hater for life who has to use one at work) thought they'd offer something closer to top of the line. Most new MLC and SLC SSDs read at 200MBps+ (1.6Gbps).
No. Whoever wrote the summary believes that bills are only effective if he/she doesn't like the outcome (since the government is always out to get us!). Now that it has no negative consequences for the author, he/she says it's "ineffective," while that just isn't the case.
Utah Senate, House Pass Jack Thompson's Game Sales Bill
Oddly, on its trip through the state legislature, amendments rendered it largely ineffective...
So why do you still complain? They added amendments that make the things you fear not happen. I understand that you don't like Utah, but stop making stuff up just to bash them.
There's a difference between believing *in* something and believing that something/someone existed. Mormons believe that they only through Christ can we be saved. "Jews and Moslems" don't believe that.
That just isn't true. Some don't, some do. If you ask me, the smart ones do consider Mormons to be Christians (you know, since they believe in Christ, and all).
No, that was Windows XP... back at the beginning of this decade. Next question.

... is there a typo in the title

(and don't get me wrong... I love mythbusters... it's just that "scientists" isn't how I'd describe them).
Yes. Mythbusters is perfect! Teach them to jump to conclusions based on extremely small data sets and horribly designed/non-existent control objects.

They're explosions... it only makes sense to relate to things that explode... most exploding things are weapons (and (super)nova).
Oh, great idea. I totally want to log in every time I "alt-tab" (in the phone sense) and screen -rD. Totally makes me want to get an iPhone.
Displacement. Go back to high school.

Happened in Utah. Tagged as 'mormons'
Or the television, or the odometer...

Even though Utah != Mormons, I'll assume that you're referring to them.
Mormons don't have a collection plate.
+5?
Right, because all religious people believe that God makes sure that they never lose any money or make any mistakes.
