    i'm sorry, i have to put in my 2 cents here...

    since when does everyone think they have the "RIGHT" to download software that doesn't belong to them? i do it, but i don't blame the government for trying to stop me. corporations have the RIGHT to charge me for software THEY made. I'll try to get around it any way i possibly can, but the government is only doing its job here. it's not fascism, it's law.

    art is one of the main parts of game design. i consider programming an art in of itself. the use of creativity to get to a certain point is art. just look at some of the games that have come out recently... FFX is covered in artistic creativity from the storyline to the environment.

    i build calculator games... probably not what you're looking for... but if you're interested, check out http://tigcc.ticalc.org/ - i use TIGCC... it's got everything you need (documentation etc... it's a C compiler and all)

    calcgames has 200 or so files as content... along with a forum and reviews and such... not as much content as.. say.... ticalc.org, but it's still growing.

    yeah, shareware is the way to go! i downloaded a shareware version of airfix dogfighter and liked it so much that i went onto kazaa and downloaded the full cracked version!

    gotta love shareware.

    i'm quite aware of how to use CSS. i'll repeat: if that's not what i code, that's not what i want. i'm not gonna add extra crap to my webpages when i shouldn't have to. if people want 3D borders they can make them themselves.

    My new site [utoronto.ca] currently looks like shit in MSIE even though I even made a separate CSS that did widths differently and forced alpha transparency on the logo.

    The thing about MSIE that i like is that when you tell it to make a border with a width of 1 pixel, that's what it does. mozilla and netscape seem to think it's funny to add cool 3d borders to my tables... sure they look cool sometimes, but if that's not what i code, that's not what i want.

    look, no matter what you say, all the ON/OFF crap is doing is trying to explain what binary IS, not WHY it is. the people who developed it actually knew what they were doing and the ON/OFF is just a way to explain it. You obviously don't understand the concept of a binary NUMBER system. All your sources use ON/OFF to explain WHAT binary is to people who aren't used to using different base-number systems.

    the ON and OFF portion of what you think you get has NOTHING to do with the joke AT ALL. you're thinking of binary in the wrong way entirely. all it is is a base 2 number system. ON and OFF has NOTHING to do with binary - that's just for explaining how computers use it to idiotic fools like yourself.

    there's a lot of "not necessarily's" to your questions. like maybe the ET's only came to america for a reason... maybe they're smart enough to come in only to that one location...

    i just can't wait till everything is super dense and super fast. One of the things i'd like to see is how they stabalize stuff like that. stuff so small i'd imagine it can get very weak easy to break. then again it can't build up very much momentum to cause breaking away from something that's holding it.
