... i wanted to install a Linux Dist (coming from WinXP i didn't care whch one. maybe not gentoo:-)) on both my old desktop and my even older notebook. i hab problems with lots of dists: suse, fedora,... not one installation worked. but ubuntu not only runs on my desktop but on my notebook also! i think its great, even if i don't have lots of other dists to compare (except fedora, that i use now too)
I haven't worked with the latest version of idea, but i used it a couple of years. Today i code with Eclipse. I can say that it was always a step behind, adding the best new usability-improvements a couple of month later. Well, that was my Impression. I don't know if its still like that. I loved to use Idea, because the usability was always very straight forward and developer-centric. Eclipse is a little more cryptic, with lots of functionality thats always present, even if you don't need it. But its very good, has lots of plugins (including the impressive myEclipse) and doesn't cost a cent.
What could be better than Big Blue backing up Firefox? And why not? OS is already a Thing for IBM. Just look at the IBM-sponsored Eclipse Foundation.
Congrats Firefox!
too bad there isn't the big fellowship right now (besides japan, where it is bigger than python, whatever that means;) i think its the most clean and powerful oo-scriptings language available.
living in germany, i always check back websites of popular newsservices or tv-stations to see if they are listed (e.g. at the horrible tsunami disaster)
...which distributed project to support. i think this einstein-project is IMHO a little bit more worth to support than SETI, but those cancer-project is the one everybody should support (sorry, got no url right now)
...someone trains through meditation (zazen) to balance the strength of thalamus and hypothalamus. IMHO, satori or enlightment is something like a sixth sense translated into the "logical" world i think.
yep, and old europe is pride of it:) but star wars at cannes? thats a big mistake i think. ep 1 and 2 were pretty bad, and cannes is the most important award festival for "real movies" (maybe number 2 if u count the academy awards) before venice and berlin.
"I don't know what kind of music i like, but when i hear it i know it". Thats a problem we often have. To have a possible solution for this would be really great.
sorry, my first language isn't english. i just meant that i don't think its not very intelligent to go on with the donation-path. open source should be able to refinance.
i'm talking about those donations-thing. everywhere i look at open source projects they are free of charge. i just don't think it should be the way that open source follows in the long-term.
ups, u are right. well, what can i say. it was early this morning:) of course i meant classes:)
but why do u think SRP is not applicable here? and what do u mean with "describe itself"? Don't u think that a class should have only one responsibility (i.e. one reason to change)? the responsibility to persist the data should be encapsulated i think, so if there a change u only have one single point to change.
always happy to hear a second (interesting) argument.
Netbeans, JBoss, JUnit, Jonas, Stuff from Apache, codehaus.org,... I don't know where to start or to end. Nowadays, one can build, deploy and run an entire Enterprise App with OS Software.

It can't be a linear function, otherwise everybody would have 12.500 cell phones. But its still a good sign that firefox is still be downloaded.

its just a collision attack, not a preimage attack, so for encryption of an email there is still nothing to fear as far as i understood the problem.
boeserjavamann IS old europe! but he's got friends in GB :-)

I think OS should know how long it wants "free beer". http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html
