I believe the point is that the presence of materials on the moon is that they would be available for use in space missions using the moon as a jumping off point. Basically, the materials would not need to be launched from earth saving the energy otherwise required to get them to the level of lunar orbit.

Things do get compacted if they do not have a retail value, though. I worked at Wal-Mart in high school and brought home a couple lawnmower engines (against policy.) Since Wal_Mart doesn't sell just the engine they had not retail value. I think they were from display models that got scavenged for other parts to the point that they could not be sold.
Is it just a matter of time until Google desktop becomes a full featured GUI that can run on the OS of your choice? That could be a clever end-run around the MS monopoly. If Google desktop becomes popular enough and has indentical (from the user's perspective) versions for Windows and *NIX this could get interesting.
It would be nice to know what chip or products use this type of conversion. Currently I have my Motorola STB convert everything to 720p. This setup did seem to product a better image than letting my Panasonic LCD Projection set handle the conversion.
Are all of the online songs from WalMart going to be censored like the CDs they sell? I never buy CDs at WalMart becuase they bleep out words like "ass" that flow freely on prime-time TV.
In true/. tradition I did read the article (doesn't render in Netscape 4.7 on this machine) but what would I be gaining over my current cable connection that delivers ~10 HD channels, a couple hundred SD channels and a 2Mb connection?
Another problem is that fish (such as trout) that depend on a high oxygen content in the water are killed because, even if the water is cooled before release, the oxygen content is greatly reduced by the heating process.
A similar problem was occuring with power lines until some smart person realized that birds of prey will always choose a higher perch for a better vantage point. It seems that a pole could be erected and an elevated perch be played above the windmills.
...She has no idea how to do her job, and has no idea how to interact with people. She is too busy calling her husband (who works at Best Buy also) and probably telling him to go buy daipers for their disgusting ass child that we all had to hear about everyday she was there. Too bad she didn't die during the labor. I am surprised she could give birth thought.. hell I am surprised that anything can be found with that fat ass in the way. Her ass was more attention getting than she was. Too bad it looked like a pillow that someone with cleats on just ran over
When I was looking I actually told recruiter this. "It's impossible to have that much J2EE experience." Supposedly the companies do this so they can say they could not fill the position and off-shore it.
When the first article about this was posted it mentionned that the flag would be used for over the air broadcasts only because "people already paid for cable" or something. I don't see this in the current article. If this affects only HD over-the-air broadcasts I doubt many people will notice the difference. However, if it affects all cable, dish and OtA digital broadcasts it will definitely hurt HD adoption.
Finally, my HDTV accepts only DVI and component inputs and uses an external decoder. If the info has to be sent to my TV unencoded how hard can it be to intercept that signal?
Seacoast NH is actually a fun place to go out. It's actually a decent club. They have free limo service too, which is cool.
Although last time I was there someone got a bottle broken over their head and got their neck cut up. Cops came, wouldn't let anyone leave, took everyone's name, etc.
How did he get caught if he was using comprimised machines to send the spam?
Also, that sentence is great. It's a great country that lets murderers and rapists out of jail to make room for non-violent drug offenders and spammers.
Supposedly Tivo is releasing an HD unit soon. I haven't heard many details on it lately, though, so maybe it has been delayed. Here is their orgional press release
The article doesn't mention what type of outputs the HD Tivo will have, but it would be idiotic to not have at least component in/out, if not DVI.
SCO had to keep distributing the kernel in order to honor their service contracts. If they had voided all their Linux service contracts the stock would have dropped, making it a non-option.
So let me get this straight... there's plenty of experienced J2EE programmers who can't find a job, yet even simple jsp developement is too complicated for graduate level MIT CS majors?!? Something just isn't right with this picture.

I'm in a Sun class and they have us on Solaris blades and the only browser is Netscape 4.7. It sucks.

As someone pointed out to me here a year or more ago, username "no_reg" and password "no_reg" work on the NYT site.

Line in for recording and $10/month for unlimited streaming? Good thing they have all that DRM.

SQLSlammer == SLQServer == Microsoft.

Did anyone get the text in the 15 seconds it took for the server to get /.'d?

We had an outage for about a second but it came right back. I was going to loot something nice too...
The reason urban areas are warmer is due to the fact that asphalt and concrete retain heat more than plain old dirt does.
