Evolution implies natural selection, and with that many stupid people alive, i am starting to think there is ground to invalidate the evolution theory. I still have faith tho, hoping few hundread years will fix that.

  9. Actually this may help PC gaming on Will Next-Gen Consoles Kill Off PC Gaming? · · Score: 1

Console gaming is a mass market. It will maybe get the gain develloppers attention but mostly the crapy big ones. EA will continue making titles like "Gran thef auto 59324 with vengence" and "NHL 2067" playing it safe, while the little creative studios may make a comeback for PC and finaly bring some innovation to games. I'm tired of all those clones of the same game because it safer to release soemthing that sells. Great games have nothing to do with graphics but with gameplay. There will be a new PC gaming era when the games will be written by real gamers again, and not selected by some corporate bozo who never played pacman in his life.

  10. Re:Games on Microsoft 'under attack' On All Fronts · · Score: 1

Clearly you're not a gamer. I have a Xbox and a PS2 somewhere taking dust in a corner. The fact that there is more console games on the market doesnt make them good games. The games i play are mostly RPG, MMORPGs, SIMULATIONS and STRATEGY WARGAMES. Now name me 1 game in this category on the consoles. ( Only games on console i played and finished are KOTOR, JADE EMPIRE ). The day console gaming provide titles like CIV series, silent hunter, falcon, opart, NWN, Baldur Gate, eq, wow, i will reconsider buying a console. This has nothing to do with pro/con microsoft post. Using linux to run games is not worth the effort as the idea behind games is having fun. Spending 2 hours to find a way to make your new game run under linux is not my definition of fun. Beside for certain games ( MMorpgs like eq ) runing them under linux is a breach to their EULA and can ( happened already ) get your account banned ( you can bash Sony as much as you want, it wont change the fact that they will ban your account if they find out ) The solution is maybe a linux based GAMING os. If the gaming industry would invest in making a small GAMING ONLY os it would make linux viable for alot of people. Sa again if you're a real gamer you have no other option than microsoft AT THIS TIME. If it was to read mail, browse the net, download crap and play with 324342 useless programs like image editing, office crap all you need is a 486 computer with some old linux distro.

If anyone can find good numbers on this movie, i would realy want to see RIAA type flawed logic. I dont have numbers but i would bet alot that Matrix will make $ records and will be the most "pirated" movie. If we follow RIAA logic we could then say, look it's the most pirated movie ever and it made records in Box office, so more a movie gets pirated more they make $ ! :) - Reverse RIAA logic works too.

  14. Zoning on Starting a Home-Based Software Company? · · Score: 2, Informative

I dont belive there is any concern about zoning as long as your company isnt a public place. If you start as a consultant, having a room in your house as office it has nothing to do with zoning. All you need is a room (or more) and a web page and a phone. Zoning is mainly for managing the general look of a sector. Its mainly there to lower traffic in residential areas, make peacefull residential areas, and to regroup services. As long as you dont modify your home outside ( put a banner with company name ) and dont have trucks deliveries or any special need that would disturb the residential zone usual apparence and peace ( like massive noise or massive waist production ) you can have your software company home. I ve seen Doctors, lawyers, veterinarians, notary use their home as office. I belive there is a max workers you can have in such setting .. somthing near 3 or 4 workers ( you should verify this with your town office regulations )
