The only surprising thing there was that I found out CowboyNeal is a lady leprechaun! I want to see the gold at the end of THAT rainbow!
Personally I never cared for Phish. They attracted a lot of the same fanbase as the Dead but I just couldn't bring myself to like them. I tried, I really, really did. It's sorta sad that now that they are breaking up for good that they are scamming 28% of the population. I would have never guessed that a cool jam-band would have to resort to this sort of scheming in order to get money!
I guess after all those tours and all those basically unsuccessful albums they are in need of people's credit cards in order to support their own solo touring and promotion.

Well, XP doesn't crash as much as you claim it to be, but we'll let that slide. Yes, CE is extremely unstable. So unstable that I wouldn't trust it to make phone calls. Why are we making cell phones run CE? Why can't the run some embedded OS like Linux or QNX (or whatever)?
I guarantee that way that you wouldn't be locked in to a specific router, a clunky and unstable OS, or a vendor who is notoriously evil.
I think someone here doesn't understand what a 'cool hack' is. One of the things that can define a 'cool hack' is going the long way around to make a peice of technology do something that it wasn't originally intended to do, i.e.: installing linux on a dreamcast or connecting a cuecat to amazon.com.
Installing Linux on a Dreamcast or connecting a CueCat to Amazon.com to link your personal collections (books, DVDs, whatever) is far more exciting than using existing pieces of technology to do something.
This is a piece of PocketPC software that is talking to a Griffin IR gadget which the iPod is controlling. Woofuckinghoo.
It is certainly not "cool" by any stretch of the imagination. All they did was use existing technology through several different hoops to get a simple task accomplished. I can't even fathom how you could place it in the same realm as the CueCat hacks or Linux running on hardware X.

According to this article, obtaining EAL2 certification typically costs between $400,000 and $500,000. Looks like it is more money than security. In their infancy, why would Linux vendors decide to shell out large sums of money when the government wasn't interested in using Linux anyway?
This whole article is FUD. He's annoyed because Linux is making leaps and bounds and will possibly affect his market-share in the lucrative Defense and Aerospace industries. At least he came out and said it on his own legs and not by paying off a third party to "investigate" the "problems" with Linux and post their results to the world.

I thought that Russia was going to make it their problem? Russia wants to allow the imports of nuclear waste into their country. I can't find it now but I thought that even though world-wide organizations are denouncing this thought the US was happy to ship some over there for permanent storage.
So what happens if this stuff does leak out? Would that be considered a Superfund site? Funding for ecological disaster recovery was slashed by the current administration.
