I don't agree w/the comment that it blends "mass appeal with cult".
This movie was good period. It had exceptional and ground breaking special effects. The story-line was great and contrary to the comment of the author the dialog was good.
Nope, it didn't have a ready made fan base but it does now.
I wish people would watch movies to watch movies instead of reading into them so much.
if you are an American, especially an unemployed one (which thankfully I am not), it's not funny at all.
Nothing like launching tons of these into.iq during the "war".
Why not spend that money on getting the 8.8 million people that are currently unemployed some jobs?
where are the screenshots of the installer?

for a distribution that is based on Debian and apparently only differs in its installer, I see no screenshots of the installer in action.
I would never have the desire for a GUI install, it's just not necessary for me, but I would like to see what makes this particular distribution so special that I would have to pay for it...
The screenshots of the desktops look like any other KDE/Gnome desktop screenshot I have seen.
actually I was referring to the original poster's comment regarding the newer Ink/Laser printers as "fancy".
The 400C was not fancy in any way. In fact, it was a $100 printer in 1997, yet it was able to hold up for 4 years and never gave me any problems until near the end.
I had a "fancy" Deskjet 400C which I bought in August of 1997. It lasted (with two b/w cartridges) until Dec. 2002 when I received a new Deskjet... I have already gone through two cartridges and haven't printed NEARLY the amount of documents that I did w/the 400C.
If the 400C didn't downright breakdown I would still be using that wonderful printer.
I have two monitors on my desk. A relatively new generic 17" monitor and a 15" Sony 100ES. When I have my cell phone on my desk near the 15" Sony the image becomes distorted and the monitor begins a high pitched whine. When I move it to the other side of the desk next to the 17" monitor nothing happens at all.
If a generic monitor manu. can shield a monitor, the companies making the airplane nav systems, etc can shield their shit too.
you're incorrect. I was on a flight from MSP to DTW in early April and the man next to me had his cell phone go off. He was instructed by the staff member to turn off the phone blah blah. We were at cruising altitude somewhere above 20k feet.
yeah, living in an area that is under the flight path of many airplanes on approach to MSP I experience FREQUENT call drops. It's people like my father who think that cell phones don't affect anything while on airplanes and refuse to turn them off that causes the rest of us headaches and dropped calls every 4 - 5 mins.
this is VERY common. When @Home went to ATTBI I had several people call up complaining that the "Internet" was gone and was replaced by this "Homosexuals" website...
They believed home.excite.com was the "Internet".
I had other random calls where www.msn.com was set as the homepage by default. These people were concerned they would owe MSN money.
The cable people complain loudly about huge variances in reliability -- some times its fast, often its unreliable enough to cause the VPN connection to drop. The DSL user has ZERO complaints about this.
I have lost connection w/my cable 2x since November. Both times a simple powercycle/release/renew got me back up and running.
I worked for ATTBI as a CSR and I am well aware of their problems in many markets. Here in MN I have had no problems other than billing issues. I hope that after Comcast takes full control the issues will remain unseen.
What I have seen (NEPA, NW Ohio, and Minneapolis) DSL is more expensive and half the speed.
In NEPA DSL is 640/160k at $49.95/mo. Static IP over DHCP IIRC. In NW Ohio DSL is 768/128. It was around 49.95 the last time I had it (over 2 years ago) and it was Static IP. In Minneapolis (I cannot get it here in Burnsville) it's 640k w/a lot of download limits and it depends on ISP but around $55+/mo.
Cable OTOH was $49.95/mo in NW Ohio from Roadrunner. It was around 2000/384k. In Minneapolis we have ATTBI/Comcast at 1800/256 for 42.95 (it's going up though).
My IP on cable has been static, my connection is stable, and my speeds are great.
I would NEVER want DSL at the same price for 1/3 the speed.
I have video out on my PCs and I would still prefer this method. I wouldn't have to run RCA cables for three miles from my PC to my TV. I don't have to fuck around changing to TV-output in Windows. I have easily accessable movies and music in one program.
I am still thinking about MythTV or Freevo instead though. I can tuck the PC behind a chair and not have to run the cables that far. I won't have to pay $50. I like the fact that it is FREE and I can do what I want w/it.
I don't know a single one of my friends that DOES NOT use some sort of "Internet communication" method to talk w/everyone. It has only been since I moved to MN in November that I realized that the rest of the world is NOT on AOL IM.
My parents use it, my grandmother uses it, my gf uses it, my buddies all use it. I rarely use my landline phone except to call locally and I am seriously thinking of saving the $37/mo and using my cell phone (which is a scary thought for me considering I absolutely despise cell phones and their users).
My Dad and I use Netmeeting for Video conferencing and my gf and I use Yahoo and a modified webcam program to get around BGSU's firewall.
Yay, I am lucky that Comcast's 4 day IP has lasted since Nov. 8th.
what in the hell are you talking about? We have been over this 1000s of times.
1. Windows is PROVEN to be more insecure than alternative OSs (including Linux).
2. Windows is FORCED upon users due to monopoly status by MS.
3. Because Windows has such a dominance in the marketplace (in which a good majority of its users are not "good" with computers) it is far more dangerous for a problem to come about on Windows than any other OS.
then there are places like here that have only cable and wireless (which is out of the acceptable price range).
15 miles from downtown Minneapolis and I can only get Comcast. What a crock of crap. My parents live in Northeast PA (10 miles from fucking Scranton, PA) and they have DSL and Cable.
TMIO has been working on their fridge-oven for about six years. Mr Mansbery came up with the idea because his family was missing out on regular meals.
Ok, most ovens have timer controls already on them that you can set ahead of time to start either pre-heating the oven or baking outright (my mother used this ever since I can remember).
Ok, so you can CANCEL the operation over the 'Net/Phone which is I guess an acceptable feature, but... I really don't see how this can be adventageous UNLESS the god damn thing gets the Honda robot to take the food out of your fridge, carry it to the counter, prepare it, then put it in the device.
because other theft prevention devices aren't sewn into the clothing.
Who the hell is going to walk around with a huge tag that looks like a woman's nipple after giving birth? Better yet, who the hell is going to leave the store with a tag that spews ink?
These can remain sewn into the clothes. I want them to stick to the current deterrents. They work, they are NOTICIABLY removed, and the items to disable them are pretty bulky. If someone creates a "disabler" like was proposed in a previous reply it would seem easier to do than what is currently available.
how about the testing and short training of the TSA screeners at airports?
You think that these people are any better at looking at Xray machines?

Where's the beef?
funny I just went to WorstBuy last week and bought a pack of DVD+RWs for $9.99. Looks like the time is now...

This newer DJ is a piece of garbage.

I am a QWest customer and I am 18k feet away. I have a Static IP w/Comcast (basically) and I use it for DNS, http, etc.

I was recently reprimanded by my supervisor for not giving a WORK STUDY my
Novell login so that she could "have the tools needed to do her job".
Nothing like having a boss that promotes this sort of behavior...

I thought that because ISDN had more than a single channel (phone, fax, network) it WAS considered broadband...

Hmm.
we are talking about a great program in 1980 but a completely worthless one today. Why even bother to keep it under a license?
Open the damn thing up and see where it goes. It may not go anywhere or it may turn into K-Visi or something.
sadly soon that will apply under the DMCA too because as we will all be born and be forever owned by Billy.
And no, I am really not kidding.

Preparation is still necessary. Give me a break.
well you are only half right.
while computers may rule the movie, PEOPLE do care about the story. It's the god damn creators that are confused.
