I'm also from IL, and I'm glad he has no chance. I will even be doing my part to vote against him. A month ago he talked of corruption in IL. Absolutely nothing backing it up, just more fear mongering. There is a good reason he is down so much. Some other polls suggest that he may be down less than 45 though, so please if you're in IL make sure he has no chance.

The fact that this comment was modded 4 Insightful is very sad to me. What would you do if you had a candidate that wasn't very bright running for office? You would lower everyones expectations about how smart he is, and then when he speaks everyone will be surprised and think he is smarter than they thought. It's also a great marketing ploy. Make fun of your weakness. For example, the Avis slogan is "We're number 2 so we try harder".

Color only matters at the very top level. The current World Champ, Kramnik goes all out with white and just tries to draw with black. Every other level below that doesn't matter. Even Kasparov, the former World Champ didn't care. This is why when it's a match for world championship, they will play an even number of games at a rate of about a game per day. At all other levels, and in tournaments, the directors just alternate. And in tournaments its basicly the people who have the same number of wins play against each other. Personally I don't care which color I am in any version of chess.

Because anyone unemployed over 6 months is considered not actively looking and is not part of the working force, therefore not part of that 5.6%. The average time to get an Engineering position in IL after unemployment is 8 months. Other states is over a year. So the statistic is slanted since it doesn't account for people who just can't find jobs.
