Sure being public means that anyone in the public has a right to view these things, but that's not to say that they need not be accountable for it.. In other words, I don't want random people looking at my shit. And if people do look at my shit, I want to be able to get a list of names, so I can look at their shit.. This can be easily avoided on the net, just create an account and look... I don't have anything to hide, but I value my privacy...
Agreed. The ISP was told that the machine at (insert IP) was distributing copyrighted material. If they hadn't done anything, and the claim was true, then couldn't they be held responsible because they knew (or were notified) that this was happening and chose not to do anything about it?
It's unfortunate that we live in a society that's got everyone on their toes avoiding lawsuits, but we do, and if I were in the ISP's shoes I wouldn't risk losing mucho gusto over one client...
Good plan, but you haven't accounted for the beer! Track the thief, go to their house (with Radek, and maybe a couple of other buddies) and politely ask for some cash to get some beers, explain that you really need a drink because your machine was stolen and the thief didn't have the decency to leave you any alcohol to cope with your loss. When he/she looks really uncomfortable say "Oh, and this is my bud, Radek"... Shortly after you should recieve your missing goods, along with enough cash for a case of beer..
sorry guys, but you've lost this one. We, the consumers and artists, are sick of paying 20 fuckin dollars for a CD. There's no way that you are gonna stop us from giving our bands more exposure and saving money!! We the people are the ones who decided, your days are numbered...
