After getting burned by Doom 3 on PC, then playing Halo 2 (campaign and then multiplayer for quite a while), is there anything else that this generation of FPS (namely HL2) has to offer? I'm feeling a little burned out by FPS games right now.
UltraEdit is nice and tight. I love how it feels, however SlickEdit has some features that I really enjoy like finding all the references to a symbol really quickly.
"Pushing" to the definition of something and "Poping" back to your current location is priceless in today's world of reading code more than writing it.
If UltraEdit had that ability I'd be all over it. Ultraedit does have ctag support, but they are hard to work with, they aren't as integrated as SlickEdit's. Because SlickEdit just doesn't have the feel that UltraEdit has.
The tooling is gone, but the know-how is also disappearing. I read somewhere (don't have the link right now) as the engineers retire we are losing much of the knowledge that got us into space since we didn't write everything down.
If your version of Windows supports Remote Desktop that is a very nice solution. Microsoft really nailed it with Remote Desktop.
How come other packages aren't that response?
Reading the article led me to some google searches to this little utility.

It extends the task bar across both monitors. Best of all it shows the applications in the correct bar.
I've only used it for an hour or two, but thought I'd pass it along.
Are the storage companies. I know that space is probably allocated on the fly, but the HPs and EMCs must be licking their chops.
I don't consider myself a heavy email user, and I'm already approaching 10% GMail capacity.
In some games the hardcore do pay more. For example, in DAOC you could have a buffbot on another account that buffed up your main toon. So you paid for 2 accounts to be a uber dood. The really l33t players had multiple accounts.

Hmm, I don't see DG/UX anywhere on the UNIX version. Am I just blind? Does anyone else see it?
Blog, Message Board, Slashdot, etc...
Surprised to not see a mention of selling Everquest items / chars on Ebay.

...I've Seen This Movie!!
Yeah, but think about that poor chick. She's getting tons of tells!
I hope it stays free. I remember the days when Microsoft actually charged people like 25$ to beta Windows 95.
