    let's the only radio I own now is in my car.

    Radio may be everywhere, but damn they are worse than TV when it comes to content. Fake Dj's doing fake interviews, the same 40 frigging songs played because they are the top 40.

    yea right. my computer contians 1600 unique songs. I don't here the same one twice for weeks.

    lets see radio beat that.

    I already have one of those. a sky light right above my bed.

    makes viewing stars easy. Those bright mornings are a killer though.

    Though in Alaska I was going to suggest, replacing the closet light with a daylight bulb, set to go off every morning.

    i have two sets of shelves.

    Each set looks like the old style library card files? Each has 6 drawers stacked vertically and can hold roughly 11 cd's in standard Jewel cases, 25 of the slim cases.

    so in just under 4 feet high each can hold between 66 and 150 cd's.

    Two points

    1) Slashcode isn't W3C HTML compliant

    2) usually it's Firefox renders before the page is loaded bug. hit ctrl + , Ctrl - and it's fine.

    Of course it doesn't happen all the time either. Some days it happens every time. or i can go weeks in-between.

    That is the point.

    My roommate got to rent a hybrid for two weeks while his car was in the shop. It wasn't any different except you couldn't hear the engine purring all the time.

    Though I don't know just how much gas he saved over his regular car. His milage wasn't that much greater.

    Biometeric's can very easily be faked.

    a large perctage of finger print scanners can be fooled with a good printed copy of the fingerprint backed by a real finger.

    Eyescanners are a bit much but can also be faked.

    What is needed is a blood/DNA scanner.

    Our multi-funciton remote will turn the tv on and off when you turn the cable onand off. It waits a second and pushes the tv button automatically. If you don't let give it that second( say spin the remote 90 degree's) it leaves the TV on.

    And yes I have been exactly where you were, I just figured out why. So I forgive them it's not worth deal with. Since I don't pay the electrical bill anyway I don't worry about it.

    Two Simple points

    1) Most USB Mice work.

    2) MSFT Intelli mice are nearly identical in price. You pay for quality. And yes MSFT mice are good quality, and work great with Mac's.

    Have they done another build since Sunday?

    This was the most recent precompiled build as of this past weekend.

    Firefox was always stable.

    Maybe it's just the OS X branch. But half the features though with menu's wouldn't work.

    I can always tell when the TV is on but the cable box is off. Even though my housemates routinely push the off button but don't give the tv time to respond. They walk right by the TV a dozen times, yet I walk within 15 feet, and I pick up the audio whine which annoys the heck out of me. A quick look and I can see the TV is on by the shade of black on the screen.

    Nvu Yea right, I will take regular mozilla composer any day.

    I tried Nvu for OS X when I first heard about this mess.

    Pluses. It didn't crash, it was cultered but full featured.

    Minuses. It would open web pages but not switch views(HTML, with tags, straight HTML text, preview), I couldn't actually use it to modify web pages.

    i tried to publish a bug report but after 20 mintues I gave up.

    So I am back to using mozilla's composer, and Taco HTML editor. One for quick and dirty layout, and inputing text. The other for cleaning up the HTML and making sure everything is smooth.

    The problem lies not in spending money but in keeping it their.

    I need a new car, if I use my savings for a down payment I can save how much monthly? Or my hot water heater just exploded and took out my furnace. Geez do I go without heat and hot water while I save up some cash or do I spend my savings today.

    And the 1.5 -3% interest one would get isn't worth it.

    I make about $30,000 a year. The interest on the difference would amount to $10. So is the fear that a change in tax laws means I have to pay $300 or I get a check for $700 instead of $1000 worth it.

    I did overdue a credit card, but I will be done with that and switched to cash only by june. And I managed to squeeze a new computer in there as well.

    if it isn't tangible, why not just route through a proxy in another state. You can't be taxed then, and no one could tell the difference.

    Well when you cas flow is tight, it's better to recieve a check because you paid to much, rather than have to figure out where to come up with another months rent.

    Incidentally, am I the only one here saying "about time" with this? I had this idea the moment I saw the first Voodoo card. I'd have done something with it, but I figured it was so damn obvious everyone else would've thought of it too. That, and I'm just plain lazy :)

    Yea I can relate to that very well. When I started playing Quake II and Unreal the other thing I wanted was a small keyboard, and a mouse/keyboard just for playing those FPS games faster. Now they have them.

    Yea but you still can't get laid, without paying cash. This Game Sucks, I want a restart with cheats enabled for me.

    Other way around. The Suburu is quality car. The Mercedes is cheap junk that rich people buy because they think they're cool cars.

    if that is the case why is that you can buy a 20 year old mercedes with 200,000 miles on it in decent condition, while you can't buy a 10 year old suburu with 100,000 miles on it? No I have never owned a mercedes. When I was 18 I was looking at both of them as options when i went to buy a used car. I ended up with 1992 olds cutlass ciera with 60,000 miles.

    It depends. Your suburu also won't last as long, or hold it value as long.

    That mercedes could be passed on to your childern. The suburu will fall apart by then.

    I will admit that the line is getting fuzzier every year. That lower end cars are catching up. Though if given the cash I would take a mercedes convertible for it's form and function over a lower cost one. Though buying an SUV from Mercedes doesn't make much sense.

    I tried something similar called Windows some time ago, I didn't really see any advantages to it over using a normal commandline . Perhaps this 2D windowing interface is different, but the whole thing seems pretty gimicky to me. Kind of like having a 2D windowing interface, just to say you have a 2D windowing interface, not because of any inherent benefits of using it. And the mouse can you imagine having to take your hands off the keyboard. think of how the typing speeds will suffer.

    Take the higher paying job. Less to have to deal moving.

    If you really and truely want a degree, you can take night courses at a local school, or even online.

    As a manager with programing experience, don't forget the people you manage where once just like you.

    design your own programs on the side, to fufill your programing desires. or 'help' out the Testing and patching sections during quiet times of the year.

    Now if the more expensive job required relocation that's a different story. The headache of moving, and a new job may or may not be worth the higher salary.
