    Creating new markets isn't bad. It is truly the only way to grow.

    However while you can use touch for everything. Making it the default interface is the bad part.
    Having a fairly consistent interface across platforms isn't a horrible idea.

    Desktop should have touch as an user Interface OPTION. I can see uses for touch on the desktop just not all the time.

    E-ink is only black white or grey. So there is very little need for large sized versions. As most things that big you want color for.

    a 30" eink display could be built though. make it from panels of smaller units like they do jumbo tron's.

    you do realize 20 years ago america looked just like china.

    WE got an EPA with teeth that businesses cry over as now they can't dump their toxic waste into the drinking water, and have to filter the exhaust stacks of the chemical factories.

    It wasn't factory jobs. It was forcing companies to clean up after themselves. Also if we can't find people to do menial work in america now(why else to illegal immgrants come work the farms. why do people think we will flock to menial factory jobs? Hell right now if your willing to work for cheap you can get a job no problem.

    That is one of the few things that is good about hte USA. At most every 8 years a different group will take over and try to take away a different set of rights.

    Republicans have the economic sense of 10 year olds. "I can always get more money out of mommy", And go after civili liberties trying to force their view on the people.

    Democrats realize that you can't cut income and increase spending , but don't really want to decrease spending to compensate. And they go after things like copyright, patent laws(just about all the really stupid copyright extensions were written by democrats)

    What if Samsung published the addresses of every home that had a 55" TV? You were supposed to register that too.

    Store locators are there because you go to them to buy stuff. if I go to your house can I go through your belongs and take what I want if i leave some cash on the counter?

    As was shown in the 70's you never know that the source your using is actually trusted.

    Just because the source is good doesn't mean the compiler was.

    many an infected and ultimately untrustworthy app was been downloaded from google play. Google like apple though monitor them and updates get pushed through so widespread failures are rare.

    Draconian bliss can be used for good. The trick is balancing out the Draconian rules with fairness.

    Now there's an idea for apple.

    Build a car dock, and a custom icarpad for it. The car dock could replace the stereo, etc. focus on navigation, music, etc. but the icarpad is removable for both security and upgradability

    need a new one just replace it.

    just about every other company takes the monkey approach to design. They throw shit on a wall and see what sticks.

    Takes smart TV's how many companies producing smart TV will provide software support for those TV's until the end of life of said TV's?

    There are days when i believe most businesses succeed not by being good at what they do but just by not being shitty at it.

    China and Cuba are doing remarkably well for communism not working.

    Given the current state of the economy and the fact the USA is defaulting on it's obligations and debts right now I would say our current system is also broken.

    Social security isn't an entitlement. it is a mandated 401K at minimal interest. you pay into it. EVERYONE under the age of 40 won't ever be able to collect anything they pay into it because capitalist politicians spent all the money stupidly expecting infinite growth. Capitalism requires infinite growth because if you aren't growing then your dead.

    you think standards allow for data exchanges. That is so funny. when every standard is backed by massive patents that are only partially shared.

    I look at it this way. it has taken nearly 20 years for software companies to design decent POS software. Even at that there are many on the market today with features that are just plain stupid. Go swipe your debit/credit card at a gas pump, grocery store, etc. how many different button options are available? does it take debit first or credit? how do you decline a debit transaction into a credit one? This is a simple piece of software that every manufacturer does differently and it makes you have to stop read and interpret the User interface for EVERY device you use every time you use it.

      E health care records have another 10-15 years to go before they will become useful. Because that is how long it will take the software engineers to figure out how to duplicate the existing paper records.

    only C and D. Not one part of it would stay in the USA. As it sits now the oil companies are exporting refined gasoline as they get better prices for it over seas instead of using it to lower prices in the states.

    Incase you weren't aware but CANADA is a foreign country. you have to IMPORT oil FROM Canada.

    Of course you realized that right?

    Just think about this. Those oil refineries with thin margins wanted the tax payers to build a pipeline from Canada for them.

    I have done the math and have seen just how thin their margins are(5% is typical profit)

    the other trick is those same refineries are shipping the refined gasses overseas for higher margins(good business).

    Not only that but public schools are basically educational veal farms.

    You lock the kids into certain rooms during the day, don't let them leave and test them periodically to see if they average out to make the grade like cattle. Schools get more money for meeting average and having kids pass tests, but all the kids learn is how to pass the test not learn how to think.

    The best part is for the last 30 years schools on average lose money, have funding cut etc. Then we wonder why they struggle. sports, band, most arts those are paid extra's for schools now. and we wonder why kids are coming out dumber than ever.
