Take any two people, regardless of race. Their DNA is 99% similar. For every functional (no errors in chromosmal replication, etc) human our DNA is 99% identical. And of that 1% that differs, only 10% of that (.1% of our entire DNA) are introns, the rest being extrons that are of no known value as the sequences they code for will never be translated to protiens as they are removed in the creation of mRNA.
Frankly, the point is it doesn't matter the race of the people. Only.1% of our DNA codes for _all_ of the attributes that make us different- eye color, skin color, hair color, etc. And we haven't even yet mapped all of these loci.
Hell, the freely available BSDs as well as BSD/OS are the "traditional server operating systems", why didn't they test those too? And why not Solaris?
Take a look at the actual lists of tested OSes. They certainly could have tested more!:) Settle more than one eternal argument!
Anyhow, for the list: 1.AIX 4.3.3 2.AIX 4.3.3 + APAR IY09807 3.AIX 4.3.3 + IY06844 4.Compaq Tru64 UNIX V4.0F 5.HP-UX 11.ACE 6.Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server 7.Red Hat Linux 6.2 Threaded Web Server Add-On 8.RedHat Linux 6.1 9.Windows 2000 Advanced Server 10.Windows 2000 Server
With many problems with your console driver going to graphical mode and hanging, the system can be left in an unusable state.
You may so that's no problem if you have a serial console around, but not everyone has such. Hence some bug reports don't contain all of the information they need:P No information from the debugger such as backtraces, etc.
cokane has recently brought a 3dfx driver (tdfx) into 5-CURRENT. This along with dfr's agp driver should yield an optimal experience for 3D acceleration. Of course, I've yet to hear any reports of how this combination works. Both drivers are still fairly new. My advice would be to wait a few months and see how things fall into place...
No, 4.0.1 is not yet in ports. There aren't even offical tarballs yet, remember? You can always track http://freshports.org/ to see when it arrives.
The USL lawsuit didn't exactly try the BSD license..
But unlike the GPL, the BSD license is very simple in its nature and there frankly isn't much to try. Having a lax license lets you not worry about legal issues, and get back to coding!
But you should note that it looks to me as if they're using Google technology: not actual Google resources. Hence they should be able to run it under any OS. Let's just wait and see.
Yeah! I want my video phone, my hover car, and my electronic windowshades! Let's not forget the bionic implants, paint-on monitors, etc.
After all, it _is_ the year 2000.
On a serious note, holostores have been worked on forever. You need to be a bit more patient. My book on digital storage predicts they'll be in widespread production by 2015-2020. This seems reasonable.
NetBSD and FreeBSD were never the same project. With people not satisfied with 386BSD's maitnence, they started their own patch kits. That's quite different from a fork, it was two people with different projects
Actually, my project (chessd) isn't using the sourceforge CVS repository, and with good reason. They don't let you log into the box with the repo itself. Even as the project lead, I still cannot do basic actions on the repsitory. Given the fact that CVS does not cover _all_ possible actions, such as renaming and some directory management, the inability to access the repository locally is a severe crutch. We basically only use sourceforge for web and mailinglists- and half of our webpage is done here at my location. Really the only thing that they provide well that most people don't want to setup themselves are mailing list, and I guess the bug reporting stuff (which we dont' need yet, the list of bugs is managable enough for mailing list)
I was going to post my own response to the to(o) folly, but instead you beat me to it. This situation gets better, however. You mispell "grammar" using the ever-so-popular "grammer" instead! I love the irony. I'm going to hope that was on purpose. Thank you very much for that, you've made my day.:)
but Louis Farrakhan is not similarly labeled a left-wing Muslim.
I don't know what crowd you hang out with, but Farrakhan is seen as a whacko by everyone (regardless of race) and _is_ labeled as a left-wing religious fanatic.
Nation of Islam? Show me the Nation of Islam on a map!:)
I don't think spammers would have the balls to do that, much as how unsolicited faxes are very rare.
Neat! Any news if there's an american release? It would be fairly trivial for one to use a CD-R and see what other roms worked with their emulator.. :)
That's the important part.

Three AIXes and not one Solaris or BSD. Sheesh!

Slashdot? Reliable? Who are you kidding!?
Whee! I was debating to try to upgrade or not, and now I think I'll make the leap.
Linux already has the pimpled faced mainstream suburban teenagers. When was the last time you were at a LUG?
But unlike the GPL, the BSD license is very simple in its nature and there frankly isn't much to try. Having a lax license lets you not worry about legal issues, and get back to coding!
At the recent SMP meeting about FreeBSD held at Yahoo, there were 3 people there from Apple Computer. Feel free to speculate.
But you should note that it looks to me as if they're using Google technology: not actual Google resources. Hence they should be able to run it under any OS. Let's just wait and see.
You should be running it through a grammar checker!
Does that B scare you?
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist :P
Unfortunately I can't prove this to you. I've been told this from more than one staffer at Google. There _is_ http://www.google.com/bsd you know.
If someone from Google sees this comment, please come forward so I don't look like I'm crazy :)

Where can I obtain these drivers?
Do you know how far PI's work is coming with 3D support for the Rage 128 cards?
I own one, and would love to see hardware acceleration in action.
