yes because people never write anything that uses a dis similar interface for apple or MS platforms. people will write their apps the way they want them to look for better or worse.
oh, give yourself a big fucking rap why don't you? i suppose your one of these initiative possesing gods among men, who shuns any and all for you are supieror!
you obviously do NOT have a clue about the kevin story, and are an egotistical maniac who can't stand anyone being in the spot light as it might detract from you.
kevin didn't do much of anything wrong, he never harmed a soul, but thanks to a certain IDIOT NY times writer he ended up enduring more deprevation of liberties then most people could even think of. he wasn't just treated like a criminal, even criminals have rights. he was totally denied any human contact, held without trail for 3 years, no phone calls or anything. kevin is the poster child for how hysterical your government has become, how it is willing to trample human rights given any excuse.
if you choose to ignore the story of kevin mitnick you may as well put your fucking head between your knees and kiss your arse before your government take aways all human rights in your country.
honestly, wtf is the point of this department anyway. shouldn't it be the responsiblity of each organisation to secure it's own IT? there doesn't seem to be much need for this. i mean what do they do all day? the FBI is already the ones who investigate crimes, CIA keeps and eye on things outside your borders. seems like a big fucking waste of money.
i wouldn't call you old fashioned. stored proc's and triggers are one of the orginal extentions to db's, in no way following do it in code style. they are the exact oppersite. they implement things inside the database. when i write an app i make my function do all the work and just send it the data. it is a million times faster and much more trust worthy then hacking out some crap in php or python.
for example, by using functions it means i can write to one table, then write a pre culminated figure into another table. if you did that in code you'd have to do 2 seperate lots of formatting and 2 seperate database base inserts.
and before anyone brings out the old war horse of database portablity.. what a crock of shit. how often do you move large db's to totally new database packages? NEVER. unless you choose something shit in the first place like access or mysql, however if you do that from the start it's your bed so lie in it.
the only problem is you miss out on all the advantages of databases such as triggers and stored functions, which ultimately shit all over your abstration layers and the "do it in code" mentality.
you poeple JUST ARENT GETTING THE FUCKING PICTURE!
software is not like bridges, mushrooms or any other shit analoges you can cook up. software can break for many reasons, not just due to bugs, it's not possible to make any promises that it will do otherwise. the only way is in very strict expensive environments.
no, the problem is opening the flood gates of ligitation. software firms mostly don't have enough money to defend against this kind of shit.
and also, for the most part bugs AREN'T costly. 99% of software no one dies if it crashes. and software that IS that critical does get that kind of treatment and never does fail. so your analogy with the bridge is the only bullshit here mate.
this guys problem, is he expects complex software to never crash. he also has no idea about just how much that extra testing he is reffering to will cost. it would make a version of windows be priced right out of anyone's budget. and it's just not possible ot make 100% bug free software anyway. he needs to just eat his fucking humble pie, admit he knows NOTHING about what he is prattling on about and STFU.
we can't blame them for trying now can we. the bottom line, is google and co have no legal obligation do pay them a cent. and you can bet google knows this. they are flush with cash and will have the best legal advise money can buy.i also doubt itunes will pay them more per song. given the amount itunes is selling, i think they are the ones with the bargining power.
why is it acceptable for a company/person to take the law into their own hands when it's copyright, but not when i catch someone breaking into my car and i give them a beating? thats what the real outrage here is. these movie studio's think just because it's their precious copyrighted works, they are some how justified in anything and everything they do.
I used to work in a tech shop years ago. i used to love it when people would say "i don't get viruses" because it always meant they were infected to the hilt.
The problem is, most people, even technically adapt people, are not capable of protecting themselfs from the host of worms and exploits being used out there today. the blame lies squarely on MS's shoulders.
i agree you can run windows in a near secure manner. just don't use outlook or explorer, sit behind a firewall, apply 50,000 patches (and hope none of them fuck up your system), turn off all but the core services and never install any software except stuff from sources you really really trust.
but as you said, having to do that just to operate in a near secure manner is OUR fault, not MS's.
in one sentence he is stating ms knows something about windows that no one else does, in the second he is stating they aren't hiding anything. it can only be one or the other, not both. i'm very inclined to think it's the first. they haven't documented jack shit in order the maintain their strangle hold and put the rest of the industry out of business.
if MS hadn't stepped in some other company would have done the same thing, they aren't responsible for anything important.
all they have done is ridden to success of the backs of other much more talented people.
and as far as i know they have only produced 2 protocols. AD and CIFS, both of which suck a fat cock.
if a movie studio offered all their titles for $5 usd a piece, with drm that say allows 5 copies to be made and it lets you download from a massive pipe so you get full speed with no queues, and the supply HD to boot, they would destroy piracy over night.
sure some cheap bastards would still download bootlegged stuff. but it will be that shit quality stuff, and they will still have to wait forever to get it via p2p, which is lets face it crap compared to a well managed download service. in they would not have made a sale on people like that anyway.
the key essence here is
price,speed,quality.
it's well within studio's power, they WILL make money off it, the only thing stopping them is their own stupidity.
given there is no such thing as windows clustering, and maya uses large rendering farms, i doubt they will kill it off. huge movie studio's will move to something else if they do and that's a big loss to them.
yes because people never write anything that uses a dis similar interface for apple or MS platforms. people will write their apps the way they want them to look for better or worse.
it's their fucking country that's messed up. people there are starved for information, no wonder the internet is popular.
you obviously do NOT have a clue about the kevin story, and are an egotistical maniac who can't stand anyone being in the spot light as it might detract from you.

the point is, why the fuck should we have to go to all the trouble of frying chips just to stop people aquiring my information without my consent.
the only problem is you miss out on all the advantages of databases such as triggers and stored functions, which ultimately shit all over your abstration layers and the "do it in code" mentality.
i think you mean an extra 25%.
you poeple JUST ARENT GETTING THE FUCKING PICTURE! software is not like bridges, mushrooms or any other shit analoges you can cook up. software can break for many reasons, not just due to bugs, it's not possible to make any promises that it will do otherwise. the only way is in very strict expensive environments.

so when can we start applying that to the millions of rip of ads out there claiming all kinds of shit.
why is it acceptable for a company/person to take the law into their own hands when it's copyright, but not when i catch someone breaking into my car and i give them a beating? thats what the real outrage here is. these movie studio's think just because it's their precious copyrighted works, they are some how justified in anything and everything they do.
they have a better understanding because it's closed source and no fucker is allowed to see it or disclose anything about it. period
The problem is, most people, even technically adapt people, are not capable of protecting themselfs from the host of worms and exploits being used out there today. the blame lies squarely on MS's shoulders.

how about you name some dick chode? name one thing MS has that there isn't prior art for.
price,speed,quality.
it's well within studio's power, they WILL make money off it, the only thing stopping them is their own stupidity.
no, the database should maintain the integrity of it's data reguardless of buggy code. thats the problem with mysql, it doesn't protect your data.
given there is no such thing as windows clustering, and maya uses large rendering farms, i doubt they will kill it off. huge movie studio's will move to something else if they do and that's a big loss to them.
and it does state it reads the ridges of the finger print, so it's not thermal.
some dirty sod will sitck their finger up their own arse then use it no doubt.
yes great when someone steals your finger print your fucked aren't you. not to mention it's the easiest to steal and duplicate
