Floating point operations using integers on Pentium Is returned non-integer values. Let's take 2,0 divided by 2,0. The result of the previous division for example could have been 0,99999959335. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong (And i'm sure someone will).
1) People who wave their level 60 character like a huge penis to make people feel inferior. Usually males.
2) People who buy this software as a 50$ chat client. Usually females.
Saying that you are not part of one of these 2 groups is mostly wrong. The casual Everquest player is very rare. Most people i know even have 2-4 accounts!
People, at work or referred people from friends, just call me a "Computer Guy". They don't care if i do network or format hard disks and put XP on them.
I think the names we have right now are just fine, and they're only used when you want to sound flashy.
For everyone you're the Computer Guy, for your boss you're the Systems Administrator and Network Engineer.
End users who dual boot are a very slight minority. People like to drive Ford OR Toyota, not one then the other alternating every day. People who have one car for each day of the week are a very very select few. Also, entreprise servers don't dual boot and if they do, i will laugh a lot.
Each pirated version of Windows running is one less copy of Linux or other variant OSes running. In order of their preferences,
1) Legit MS
2) Pirated MS
3) Alternative OS
So they almost approve piracy.
The general populace doesn't really care about that sort of thing. I am an AMD fan, never bought Intel, but i have to make special orders for my processors, while the dealer always as 56,000 kinds of P4s on display and in the back store. P4s sell a lot, and nothing is going to change that real soon. Even if they are twice as costly, people think it's because they are twice as reliable. AMD will probably not benefit a lot from this, except in the Geek Segment, which is what, 10%?
I can understand why Intel wants people not to overclock. Faster expiring warranties = less money, not to mention those who abuse extended warranties and break their stuff 2 years 364 days later on a 3 yr warranty and expect a brand new processor on top of that.
Why would you want to overclock, that's beyond me. For 20-30$ more you can get what you can attain already. Is your time worth less than that? That's like having a turbocharged car on a highway where you can only go at 65 MPH like everyone else. I know my time is better placed elsewhere than watching my CPU temperature constantly.
I always thought that if an OS could replace Windows on the desktop of 90% of users, Mandrake would be the one. It's by far the easiest to use for newbies. I'm not a fan of *nix, I even consider myself a microsoft fanboy. But I know what I like, and I like this one a lot.
Too bad my first Linux experience was Initial GUI Setup, reboot, then kernel panic. If you thought blue screens weren't very descriptive, you should see a Linux dump. I'm willing to try again tough!
Target of opportunity? Did the installations make a five feet step?
Oh come on we can all use a little humor in these troubled times. There's not much you and i can do. Those anti war protests sure worked.
No that would be like asking a climber "Why do you want to use your stuff to go up a hill?"

Why don't you go join Bill with his 640KB RAM machine? Seriously, you need to open yourself up to technology.
There are 2 kinds of people in MMORPGs.
1) People who wave their level 60 character like a huge penis to make people feel inferior. Usually males.

1% is still very much within the human race error margin. 50% of people i meet are stupid jerks, doesn't surprise me that 1% are criminals.

The same thing that drinking Coke is bad for Pepsi. MS makes money from saying to it's customers "Look 90% of Desktops run Windows".

I can stop getting 10 times Undead in a row when playing Random in Warcraft III!
